Reporting Dodgy Bitcoin Addresses?

Hey just curious, I often get email scams demanding bitcoin or else they'll post all the grubby details from my webcam (which I don't have)to everyone in the world. Is there a way to report their BC wallet address to someone who might take action against this type of scum or are they pretty much untrackable? Or the gubment doesn't care?

Cheers

The authorities don't care unless they can tax you

    • Cheers.

I reported it here https://bitcoinwhoswho.com/scams but I guess nothing will happen. Not concerned for myself but I know a lot of older folk who get scammed in all kinds of different ways.

  • Bitcoin are fully traceable unless you put them through a tumbler, but I doubt the police or anybody else will be interested in your case.

LOL, what do you want the Police to do, send AFP officers overseas and track these guys down?

I had the email about them having webcam footage (I also don't have a webcam) of me having a wank, and if I didn't pay them some bitcoin amount that they would send it to all my friends. HA stupid them thinking I have friends.

  • D. Get a webcam. ;)

  • E. Become a camwhore

    • That won't work, I want people to pay me when I camwhore, not the other way around.

      • This is where this scam falls flat.

        Camwhores want publicity and exposure.

And you know what they say any publicity is good publicity.

  • I thought the whole idea is it's untraceable. People use bitcoin for buying and selling illegal drugs.

    Somewhere on the dark web

Most of the scammers are living in former Soviet-block countries (Russia) or third-world countries (Nigeria). They are out of reach of Australian authorities, and the authorities in their own countries don't care.
