Wow thanks TA. Hope this doesn’t end early like Shopback

    • -4

You realize that was chemist warehouse and not shopback pulling the plug early

      • +1

        wait what happened?

        • +6

Shopback pulled the plug. I have access to the affiliate networks CW pay out on and the highest they went was 5% for a promotion compared to the standard rate of ~1-1.2%. The other 95% was coming from SB's pocket.

          • +6

@Clear: I didn't notice they pulled the plug… And I even got others to order after the apparent cancelled time. Thats straight up disappointing. If 95% was coming from SB, then why did they claim CWH didn't like it?

            • +2

@ATangk: To shift the blame because people are gullible and don't understand how affiliate marketing works. Not the first time and seems to have worked.

              • +2

@Clear: Margins have to come from somewhere. Working at a loss only works if your business model is like colesworth loss leaders, or bunnings snags (does this even count lol)

                • +1

@ATangk: A little Googling will show you how much investment cashback companies get, especially when SB are an overseas company operating all over Asia. Besides all cashback companies make good profit elsewhere as some stores pay really well unlike CW!

                  • +6

@Clear: Was in singapore before, damn they have like 15 payment methods each with their own reward system. Up to like 11% off everyday supermarkets with this bank card and cashback here and there…

Chemist warehouse is honestly like a plague though. They force out independent chemists and barge in with their 'lowest price' speel when a quick google search will frequently find them out as not the cheapest. It takes 3 days to set up a store's furnishings and they can operate within a week or two…

            • @ATangk: What was the cancel time exactly?

We've been working closely with our partners at Chemist Warehouse to bring you this great offer. Due to the high demand they are unable to fulfill any more orders, and as a result we have had to end the offer. We're sorry for anyone who missed out. For anyone wishing to purchase from Chemist Warehouse, we're running an still running upsized cashback at a rate of 5%. Orders up until 3:20PM AEDT today will be honoured.

          • +1

@Mokr: I had a look after wilder's comments above. Not very happy with them changing T&C's midway…

why now just spent over $100 USD

  • +1

Ggrreat….. just made a purchase on aliexpress this morning before this offer. 🤨

    • So did I! Literally 5 minutes before haha

  • If I ordered something right now but made a mistake, cancelled it and then re-ordered, will it still count?

    • Sure will :)

      • With daylight saving time kicking in on the East coast, these deals end too early for us in WA. Can you prolong them for an hour or two? Thanks!

  • Hey clear please check. Via cr app, Android, then click shop Aliexpress, i got error loading page screen

    • +1

        Okie. Done. Bought.

      • Hi TA, too many words are hurting my eyes and wrecking my brain. Please check over the simplification I added to the description for accuracy, or if you think it makes people even more confused then please delete.

        • +1

Hi Alvian. Please leave it as per my edit. It generates confusion. I believe it's clear as it is. Thanks.

    • Same here

      • See my response above.

        • +1

Thanks mate beat me to it

        • Hey TA, I'm on iphone and don't have the AE app installed.

Used the CR app to make my purchase, but when I hit "pay now" it popped up a message saying it couldn't be processed right now. Clicked through some other menus however and found that the order was still executed, just the payment not successful. I had to click through from the CR browser in Safari to "my orders" to complete payment, since the CR app wasn't allowing it. Any idea if this will still track?

  • Do I have to pay in USD?

    • @TA can you confirm whether the spend must be made in USD or can it be made in AUD equating to 2USD for this to be valid?
      Thanks.

      • +3

Of course in any currency is fine as long over usd 2

        • +1

          Yep, thanks!

        • +1

          Thanks

        • Thanks.

  • +1

I made my first Aliexpress order last month, paid extra for tracked EMS ePacket shipping and it's apparently been enroute from China to Australia for 2 and a half weeks. Not ideal.

    • +1

It will eventually turn up. All my previous AliExpress orders took anywhere between 3-5 weeks.

    • I found that half the time, the tracking doesn't get updated after 'dispatched to airline' or equivalent tracking. They just randomly show up. That said I had a packaged accepted by the airline on like 25th last month, and tracking was last week sent on the aircraft. China had a week long public holiday at the beginning of the month so theres many delays on shipping.

    • +1

China just had their 7 day straight public holiday.

      • Oh, I didn't realize that. thanks for the heads up!

      • -2

Was that to plan retaliation against HK?

  • Anyone else get payment errors with AliExpress on Desktop? Must be something on my work network that is blocking it, because mobile works fine. Will try to get this over the line for some Happy Socks after work.

  • -8

I am surprised people take the chance buying for aliexpress, considering they don't accept PayPal. I guess people are so cheap these days they value price over anything else

    • what's wrong with credit card? are you worried your credit card details will get stolen?

    • +1

      Lolwut?

    • +2

Horses for courses. Yes, I believe my credit card details are secure with AliExpress. So far items always arrived, YMMV. Quality is on-par with stuff bought off eBay. For low value items AliExpress is a good alternative to eBay for me.

    • +2

Meh. Been using them for years without issue.
Stuff usually actually arrives quicker than stated, and despite the classic 'cheap chinese knockoff' cliche a lot of the stuff I've gotten from there has been pretty decent-to-great quality.
Just stick to the higher rated sellers and check the reviews/image reviews from other customers.

Amazon or Ebay never seems to have as much of a niche collection of odds and ends that I always seem to be after.

      • +2

Quality is often awful, descriptions frequently contain lies, many fake sellers, many real sellers who still try to cheat you, packaging is lazy and careless, and shipping times are painful.

That said, I've ordered 2-3 dozen times, you quickly learn what's rubbish and what any lies are, skipping past fake sellers is easy, packaging you can't do anything about, but NEVER email sellers directly if they ask nor cancel disputes and accept their offer of a refund later via paypal (which will never come once the dispute is closed).

Every time something has gone wrong I've raised a dispute and received my money back (less currency conversion fees anyway, back when I didn't have a Macquarie Debit Mastercard). In fact it's less hassle to get a refund from Aliexpress than it is from ebay.

The most difficult refund to obtain was for a 'gel wrist support cushioned mouse pad'. It was NOT gel - it was just that pathetic soft yellow foam that stuffed toys and old pillows are filled with. It provided no support whatsoever, just went flat the moment your wrist touched it. It looked like Aliexpress was going to side with the seller, but luckily I could still upload a video because he'd also folded the thing in half to squeeze it into a small plastic bag - and the crease had become permanent, meaning it would never lie flat again. I had to change tack from 'no gel' to 'permanent crease that will never flatten out again' to win. Other refunds were easy.

Oh - and uour bank would probably refund you anyway. But use a debit card instead of a CC like I do (Macquarie is SO EASY to sign up online) and only transfer the amount in when you want to buy. They'll get $0.

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

  • damnit just made an order yesterday.. hmm is it worth cancelling and ordering again

  • -2

How much is $2USD in AUD ????

    • +2

      Try searching

      2USD in AUD ????

      in google.

      • +1

        Approx $2.95 AUD

  • Damn it.. just bought things from AliExpress yesterday…

  • Awesome. Got an ice cube tray

  • I bought some computer monitor riser tables. I got the email about the regular cashback, but it didn't have the extra $2 included. Will this be a separate email?

    • +2

      (8) AUD $2 bonus will be credited to your Cashrewards account as approved by Nov 30 2019.

  • +5

Essentially it's $3 spend to get $2 back

  • Thanks!!!! I’ve been thinking of buying a fake pearl necklace for my work’s 1920s themed Christmas party so finally pulled the trigger as it was $3.11 and perfect for this cashback.

  • Thanks OP!

  • Can't find any cheap disposable gloves Woolworths and Coles I think still beat them.

  • When are you guys getting eBay ??

    • +5

      Stay tuned :)

      • +2

Dear Santa, any chance you guys can snag a better deal than 1%? That'd be an awesome Xmas present. Thanks and love from all OzBargainers.

      • Honestly, don't make me use the app and I'll be happy.

  • Just ordered, hope it tracks alright!

  • +1

    If I buy something that's $1.50 + $1.00 shipping = USD $2.50, would that be eligible?

    • +1

      (3) AUD $2 bonus is eligible when making a purchase of USD $2 or more (after any discounts, shipping costs, packaging costs, GST, Taxes).

      • I saw that, but got confused LOL! So in my case, it's eligible?

        • No. Excludes shipping

        • +2

I saw that, but got confused LOL

          You still are.

        • The terms are confusing. (After.. , shipping costs, …,GST .) seems to imply as long as the final price paid is $2US it is fine.

          • @maccam01: After discount. Ex GST. Ex shipping.

  • Hi, my purchase of US$2.36 tracked but it's only showing the 5% cashback, should I see a $2 cashback as well / does that come later, or have I done something wrong?

    • +3

Please read note (8) in the OP :)

  • Bought a Switch card game case, ta TA!

  • Bought a $5'ish Keweisi USB Voltage 3 in 1 tester. Thanks TA.

  • Did anyone else have issues when trying to checkout? Aka the website refusing to load at all, no matter how many times I refreshed or how long I waited (20 seconds before refreshing). I wasted over 30 minutes trying to get the page to load so I could checkout before midnight. Nope. Nothing would load.

And there's no 'help/contact us' section either, is prefer to email them. But it looks like the only options are through social media channels, e.g FB, twitter, etc. Not sure why there's no email option too. And I even used the referral link but I couldn't checkout, so I guess I saved myself $25..

  • I bought at 6pm and still no tracking email… not tracked? It's there in the click history…

  • i think mine doesn't tracked as well … nothing so far :(

  • Anyone having issue with the orders last night? Mine kept saying pending payment after I made the payment and it just got to pending authorisation on my credit card.

    • Yeah mine did. I never had issues with Aliexpress in the past, so fearing the worst i cancelled my orders. It didn't take my payment for multiple items on the first attempt and asked me to pay for individual items afterwards. Then their webpage still showed the items as not being paid and i received no confirmation email about it. Waited a good few hours before deciding to cancel my orders.
@TA - any chance a similar deal like this would come up again over the next few weeks?

  • Nothing is tracked on my account other than the 5%. Anyone got their $2 tracked?

    • Please read the terms in the OP:

      (8) AUD $2 bonus will be credited to your Cashrewards account as approved by Nov 30 2019.

      • The system was very flaky towards the end of the night when this deal was active in regards to payments.
Just wondering whether you think something similar would occur soon again?
