      • If it's good enough that the LockPickingLawyer can't pick it, it's good enough for me :).

A lock doesn't have to 'unpickable'. It just has to be hard enough that most people can't do it.
If someone has a pro picking their locks, they need to spend less money on desirable possessions and more on security.

Not every lock can be opened in seconds without any special tools though.

  • I can crack one open in about 3ish minutes, wouldn't storing anything valuable in these.

YouTube video or it didn't happen

      • There's a pretty obvious flat spot in the gap next to the number, or even just stick a thin card to check how flat it is. I'm sure it can be done quicker.

I'm pretty sure the longer the better for YouTube monetisation so you're all good!

          • @ballsau: No worries he'll spend 5 minutes telling us a lengthy list of personal items you shouldn't trust this to protect then 3 minutes showing us his pick set then a 30 second promotion for the picks and lock with Amazon short URLs on screen and only then will be begin to attempt picking the lock

@Agret: After the obligatory ad that starts 'what if I told you that you could…'

    • That's pretty awesome, considering that in 3 minutes you can crack open the strongest padlock in the world

      • I'm not super human haha, I only tried it once after my mum forgot the combination to the lock.

    • I use one to keep the keys to my lock box so I don't have to carry keys.

      • That's a lot of keys

  • Just get those chinese ones, it will do the job

    • I think I know the exact one you're referring to.

      • Me too…

These are to keep honest people honest… and yeah I'm sure any lock can be picked. Probably much easier if the lock is right in front of you in decent light, rather than upside down on a tow ball in a crowded beach carpark.

    • Agreed. It's better than nothing. And at the very least it forces someone to spend just that bit longer trying to get it open, possibly drawing attention to themselves.

  • Lol. Don't buy these. These are so easy to break into. Save yourself $22!

Friends don’t let friends buy Master locks.

    • Best neg vote reason of the year!

You only find lock picking hobbyists on Ozbargain, not at the beach.

I'm a surfer that has been using this type of lock for 10 years plus and never been broken in to. The thieves will just go for the cars next to you where 99% of surfers just leave their key on top of their tyre.

    • What beach? :)

On a serious note track record info like this is the only truth. We are all being chased by the CIA

    • I'm trying to get my head around the practical application of the product. At the beach. At home. How are people using these? Is it only as a somewhat secure place to store keys? Anything else fit? Not knocking it, just want to understand.

  • It's now showing as $49.51.

  • Looks like the price has gone up to $25.49 with $8 shipping.

Should always take a girl to the beach so she can mind your car keys while you surf, and then just before you're ready to come in you give her the pre-agreed on signal and she goes and gets you a pie and chokky milk.

The easiest solution is always the best. Bring a nappy and put your keys in there. It never gets stolen.

  • I am sure air bnb owner will be very much interested in this lock. I see everywhere around buildings in sydney.

  • this lock is rated pretty poorly, easy to get open https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdeMaWkJF2k

  • Don't Hyptocryptos come with a waterproof RF proof key compartment

  • Hope there are no thieves in OZ bargain community, otherwise they will learn so many skills to break in house or car.

So much BS in this thread. I have been using one of these for years, attached to towbar most mornings surfing. Never had a problem.
Back to the FOB, my car has a setting that you just put your hand near door handle and it opens if fob is near, which i dont use.

  • I received mine. Neither our Hyundai or Toyota keys fit ….

    • Yes, my toyota key only just fits if I take off the other keys. I think cutting a smaller key will be best.
