Question re: Xbox One X Price History

Hi All,

So the cheapest I can currently find and XBOX One X is $529.
Has it ever been cheaper than this? Does anyone think that it would likely drop below the $500 mark around Black Friday/during Christmas sales? Or would this be as good as it gets and I should just shut up and buy it?

I've only recently started looking so I have no idea on the price history.

Thanks :)

There were multiple great 1TB bundles between 480-550 towards the start of the year. Some included between 6-9 games I think

  • Feels like it's been a ages since any Xbox console deal. I have been waiting for the next $200 stand alone console bundle for quite a while now. Missed out on the last two.

Absolute cheapest is around $450 from what I can see of deals this year

But it depends, is it worth the extra to have it now and play it over the Christmas/New Years period?

$340 twice. $450 has been a more frequent and accessible low and that usual included a game with it.

Only a handful of people were lucky enough to get the Good Guys deal. Most were cancelled and refunded (including me)

Wait until Black Friday. October is usually a quiet month for sales and discounts as every retailer knows they're going to do some sort of Black Friday offer.

There was an Amazon Prime deal for Xbox One X for $429 last year - no guarantee it will be done again but can you wait 6 weeks until Black Friday?

  • Thanks all - appreciate the insight - it's been really helpful.
I'm not in a huge rush so I'll sit tight for Black Friday in this case - if i could get it either cheaper or with more games it would be a win, and any saved money could be put towards a gold membership.

    Thanks again :)

  • Highly recommend just buying 2nd hand at this point, it will go lower during Christmas but never as low as 2nd hand, just now on FB marketplace and i can see people selling them for 300-350 with games

    • I considered 2nd hand - but you never know how it's been treated by the previous owner - and I'd really prefer to have a warranty.

      • true enough, it is risk vs reward but with consoles they generally just sit in the one spot so often times are pretty safe bets for 2nd hand

Thus my comment below. Mine starting running real slow out of the blue (after I went out one night and the missus used it for Netflix….) to the point it was unusable. Had a new one delivered in 6 days. No hassles

If you can get it for around $450 with or without a few games. I'd highly recommend it. When I watch my kids play on their One S, it's such a big difference graphically it's well worth the money (and I'm just a casual gamer)

Also; just found out it comes with a 3 year warranty, so I'd buy Brand New

I just pulled the trigger on a second hand one for $380. If I sell my S for say $180 then I'm pretty happy with the change over. So far I'm really happy with the additional performance of it.

I paid full price about 12 months ago, i suspected there wouldn't be many sales and there wasn't. the performance increase was worth it on a 4k hdr tv. Xbox Two launches next year though, so there could be some deep discounts this xmas or closer to the Xbox Two launch in about 12 months.
