  • Powerbank supports passthrough charging? Will it also be able to charge a Nintendo Switch?

    • +1

Will able to charge Nintendo switch.

      • what about passthrough charging support?

        • yes, i have one charging while powering a dashcam

    • You need a USB-C to USB-C type cale though FYI!

  • +1

It also works with the Surface Pro/Book/Laptop with the right 15V cable.

      • +2

Oh, I totally forgot about that thread. :)

Anyway this is a ready-made Type C to Surface cable that works:

I'd bookmarked your advice, while thinking about buying this PowerBank. Still thinking…
Never have had a need to charge SP4 away from power, so far.

Bought the $19 Microsoft adapter - but it's a bit big. Then found I don't have a powerful enough charger to run it.

          • +2

@INFIDEL: I bought a surface pro to usb-c cable with this power bank. Gives is about another full charge and just as quick as a wall outlet. Only downside is when the cable is plugged in the power bank is always on.

            • +2

@[Deactivated]: These cables has a chip inside to emulate pd sink device. So the power bank would think a device is plugged in instead of an arbitrary cable, thus always powers on.

              • @xmagic: Ahh I see. Thanks for that.

                • @[Deactivated]: eug explained how to build those cables using a $6 PD Trigger Board.

Buying the $14 ready made cable is easier. Just need to unplug from PowerBank when not in use.

                  • @INFIDEL: I bought mine at the start of the year from the U.S. Cost me a lot more than $6 lol. Wish I saw this first.

                    • +1

@[Deactivated]: OzBargain comments can be very useful. That's why I bookmarked eug's earlier tips😉

xmagic's explanation made its operation clearer.

But, in regard to purchases… hindsight can be very frustrating!

Still not convinced I need this hefty PowerBank just for very occasional charging of the SP4. It's rarely away from a power point.
I hate having to carry the much lighter 10,000mAh one just in case my phone needs recharging.

                      • +1

@INFIDEL: True that! Yeah definitely has a bit of chunk to it. I've got a nice bag to carry it all in, but if you're near power all day it's really not necessary.

                        • +1

@[Deactivated]: I'll probably be still considering it next time this Deal appears😉
Procrastination saves me so much money💰

                        • @[Deactivated]: Thanks.
Decision made. Will stick with the mains power supply.
Found both my USB-C power supply were not up to charging a SP4 & would charge this PowerBank slowly.

Organised a refund on the $19 USB-C Surface Pro adapter (via Microsoft in El Salvador!) Won't need it now.
                          $48.27 + $19 + $power-supply saved😉

                          • @INFIDEL: Save it for another deal ;)

  • Ultra specific question, but any idea if this will power Vive Wireless Adaptor?

    • The adaptor can power from any QC quickcharge 3.0 power source that supports 12v at 1.5a or greater.

This power bank supports 12v at 1.5a from the USB-A port, so yes it should work just fine with the adapter.

  • IS that Fast Charge pass through?

  • +3

Last Friday it was $45.52 delivered from AusRiver using the Pollen20 code, but they are not eBay top seller so I couldn't post it as a deal. Mine should arrive tomorrow.
Right now a1_electric_toys have it for $48.36 with the prism15 code.

OP can you do any better?

    • +1

@$45.52 nice, @$48.36, hardly worth dealing with less known seller for me.

OP can you do any better?

OP has come through with better offer, so thanks👍

      updated.

I highly recommend Gearbite, I purchased a device from there and it stopped working due to a manufacturers fault. Upon contacting them they replaced it free of charge with no questions asked. Highly recommended this ebay seller, 5 stars from me.

    • Still cheaper at A electric toys store now , thanks for sharing

  • will this also jump start my car?

    • @CeeAyeEee As long as it's a toy car and you're 10cm tall!!

      • +1

        I said, hop in 🔫

  • Does this powerbank require a specific kind of power plug to be charged? Thanks.

    • +1

No it does not need a specific power plug. Just any phone charger will do, but ideally use a USB-C cable with a fast USB-C PD phone charger for fast charging. You can charge it in your car with a phone charger plugged into the cigarette lighter (12V outlet) also.

  • Thanks OP

  • Safe to assume it will also charge 2019 Macbook Pro (4 TB ports)?

  • Does this do 45W with the note 10 plus or only ~25W?

    • +2

I believe,If it has no PPS you will only get 15w charging on Note 10 plus.

      • This is correct.

        No PPS = 15w.

Slow shipping. Still waiting for mine I bought back on 26th of September.

  • My last 2 Xiaomi powerbanks died within 2 years with not much use, am i just unlucky?

    • yes.I have 10 powerbanks of 5 different brands of varying vintages with the oldest one 6 years old and every one of them still work but older ones capacity is severely reduced. They have had very less use of course and havent been knocked about.

    • I've had similar experiences. I had a 14000mah and 20000mah and they died with light use.

I have two 10,000mah which are still working but their full charge lasts about half as long as they did 6 months ago. These ones I am using a lot though.

      • +1

Mine were very well looked after and hardly used, mostly just for the odd travel trip every few months.

I am going to pull them both apart and see if i can salvage one from the 2 by testing the individual batteries.

  • Can I charge this via USB C, and then use a USB C to Lightning to charge an iPhone?

    • Nope. It only has one USB-C port for pd input and output.

  • Just a heads up, it does work only if you have a USB-C to USB-C cable. I was scratching my head thinking it would not work on my LG Gram (which isn't mentioned in any web page that I know of).

It took lesser than 30mins for the battery to drain/transfer its juice to my Gram notebook, but would take more than 2hrs to fully charged up, using the supplied USB-A to USB-C cable.

I'm seriously wondering how exactly is it possible for anyone shipping batteries into the country since it's not really permitted.

    • I'm seriously wondering how exactly is it possible for anyone shipping batteries into the country since it's not really permitted.

It's allowed, different countries have different regulations. Australia Post for example, will ship a certain amount of them overseas by air as long as they're installed within a product and not just loose cells by themselves.

I stopped buying power banks from China long ago. My track record with them has been poor. They don't arrive, and I don't hear anything from the seller. If you don't chase it up, they'll just keep your money.

I buy them from grey importers who already have stock sitting in a local warehouse.

  • Do they make one in 26800mah?

  • Is the "fast charge" mentioned here the same as what an iPhone 11 Pro would support?

  • Which version of PD (2.0 or 3.0) does the 10000mah power bank have?

  • Are these allowed on flights?

    • Yes, it's under the limit.

  • Is the Powerbank Pro 10000mAh the PLM03ZM or PLM01ZM model?

    • PLM03ZM

  • How does this compare to the RAVPower RP-PB41 26800mAh Powerbank & Portable Charger?

  • Did anyone have experience charging Macbook 2014 or any other Macbook with Magsafe2 using this PowerBank or any other? I want to know if there any way to charge my macbook from a powerbank, there some adapters USB-C to Magsafe2 on ebay.
