CTP insurance rate reduction

With the changes to the ACT Compulsory Third Party insurance that commence on 1 February next year, I was expecting a decrease in insurance premiums. However, this doesn't seem to have been reflected in my annual rego renewal notice. Does anyone have any idea whether we will be able to get a rate reduction? If so, how?

    I'm sure that'll be coming along about the same time that credit card interest decreases to reflect the lower RBA interest rate.

    Well you have, rate hasn't increase much as they used to be since your last renewal ;)

    An insurance reduction?????

    Happened in NSW with greenslips. And we received a refund for
    the previous year.

      My CTP decreased by $14. Really something to celebrate about and be thankful for the gubment!
      Just like that "free" $100 for kids to spend on activities - when you use it, the activity organization applies a $79 "government initiative support processig fee".

    I remember when in NSW they went from government CTP to 3rd party and said the change will bring about cheaper rego costs because of marketplace competition… the exact opposite happened and rego costs more than doubled.

    ie: don’t hold your breath…
