List of operators per year

With Year 4, I think there's one more update to come, so expect 2 more operators.

The Reddit FAQ is laughably bad.

For example it explains that every day features record numbers of players.

It also claims that operators are easy to obtain without paying additional money.

In case you aren't in on the scam, the entire point of these games is too have people pay additional money after paying for the license instance. So operators are certainly not easy to obtain. The process of extracting additional money from you involves making the game shit so you can fix it by paying money to solve the problem that the developer created.

Large number of operators available for free, and it's easy enough to get 1 or 2 extras for free. So if you have an idea of who you would like to unlock specifically, just aim for that. But yes, "pay to gain an advantage" is a frustrating model.

I've been playing for years on Xbox and haven't spent an additional dollar. Great game.

      • Can agree. Been playing the game for almost 2 years now. Was also sceptical at the way operators were unlocked at first. But after playing for a while, only a few DLC operators fit my playstyle, most of them being the vanilla ones. Also DLC operators arent entirely locked out of the game, and can be obtained by simply playing the game.
Ubisoft has been taking steps to make it easier to obtain DLC operators now, with permanent discounts every season.

    • Operators are easy to unlock… you just have to play the game and have patience. I can unlock an operator every week or two through playing and I'm no pro.

I recommend buying the Deluxe at $17
It gets you the eight additional operators from year 1 that have very useful gadgets, for not much more money than the Standard.
As mentioned you can unlock the rest as you play, without needing real money. All maps are playable without the DLC.

  • If you bought the game ages ago you can easily unlock new operators that come and have spare change for other things, if you are new and want to grind it, it will take you ages to get there, but considering how cheap the game is id say totally worth it, I spend say $100 on the game so far, 2 accounts, 1 with full operators one with few and got 1000 hrs so totally worth it

Definitely recommend spending the extra $6 and getting deluxe over standard. You get 8 more operators that are very good for newcomers to R6S.

  • Forgive me for me being naive.
Is this is a full game [ie single play game or expansion of the games]?
    thanks

kind of full game, but its mp game - no single player

  • For the next 18 hours, the standard edition is even cheaper!
    $9.88!
