Old motherboard crapped itself, in the market for a new but but missed all the deals that were coming up a few weeks ago.
Any idea where I can get one of these CPUs close to those sale prices?

Wait, so your mobo died and you managed to get a great mobo at a great price.
So why aren't you using your current CPU ? (a 8600k I presume)
My cpu is a 6700k :(

You could've done a quick google to see if it was compatible.
You could sell that mobo, and make profit on it, and use the profits to buy a replacement mobo for your 6700k.
Or you could try and sell your 6700k (I think they're holding their value, supply/demand)… then replace it with a 8600k or 9900k. You might pay a little extra for the cpu (if no bargains) but you can justify it, since you've off-set the expenses by getting your mobo for cheap.
TL;DR - Just get a (cheapish) 8600k or a (flagship) 9900k, don't worry about the price too much.
Got it because its near impossible to find a decent gen 6 ITX at a reasonable price, had the option to get a z390i for a good price, and I had in my head there was still some decent deals for the 9700k on ozbargain, but i missed them from a week or so ago :(

I'm also waiting for a good deal on the 9700k/9900k as my 9600k bottlenecks my new 2080 super, if you can, try and wait a little longer, I will be the current prices aren't great.
