KOGAN Does Not Require Signature upon Delivery, My Parcel Gone Missing

I ordered a motor mist fan, about $130. Today I received email from Australia Post saying it was delivered. There is no parcel, I was home, with car in driveway. Australia Post said they will investigate but it looks like I have no protection

OP wouldn’t win a PayPal dispute if tracking shows delivered to their suburb.

      • That's true, but does OP have a camera facing the mailbox?

I had a similar issue, I argued my camera never got triggered as it normally does. I still had to go through the ombudsman (2-3 weeks timeline to decision). But I think that would put more weight to Ops argument.

        • no camera unfortunately

          • @screensaver: As Phunky asked, did you pay via paypal?

It'd be better if you paid via card, then you can file chargeback without the risk of being blacklisted by paypal.

But if you paid by paypal…it's still worth it to try going through the ombudsman, but I'm not sure if the result will go in your favor…

            EDIT:

GO through AUst post internal dispute first.

      • What if kogan website iteself doesnt show tracking number ? But says item delivered??

  • paid by card, but the tracking says delivered so may not work

AusPost should be able to provide you with a photo of where the item was left.

    • really? i hope so

Yes, the contractor has to take a photo when leaving without signature.

I know because I had to have a photo taken holding my parcel when I caught the guy dropping it off without even knocking.

    • Is there anywhere in their policies I can find this statement?

    • +2

This - if any AusPost contractor delivers things that have 'authority to leave' on them, they leave it and take a photo of where it was delivered to e.g behind a chair or under the daybed - I saw them do that today both at my house and my neighbour's house.
Not sure if it's different for Kogan deliveries.

      • Under the day bed. Lol. Aust post left my parcel under the dun.

        • To be honest, I spent like 15 minutes trying to find it. But honestly it was a good and 'safe place on the premises' haha.
Also glad that it didn't end up on my roof.

@CC123: I had one chucked over the fence into the backyard. Dog had lots of fun chewing up the box.

    • Not all the time. Depends on the service that the sender/receiver paid for.

Afaik, Kogan articles can be safe dropped without a picture taken

Raise a dispute with aus post, then call the contact number on the email to escalate it

There's a chance it'll turn up tomorrow, happened to me

I was missing a parcel that was marked as delivered so I called Auspost. What I did not realise is that posties actually take pictures of unattended deliveries. I did not know this was a thing.

When I called a rep at Auspost, he was a little smug and insisted it was delivered and as proof emailed me that picture. It was the wrong house.

Please tell me you were super smug when you told him it was the wrong house.

Get this, I rang up and told them it wasn't my house. This was his reply - "How do you know that's your package?". He's the one that sent me the photo!

Anyways, I canvassed my neighborhood on Google Maps and located all the houses with the same house number. I managed to find out where it was delivered based on street view.

        • Holy stupidity, batman. I would be head-banging the wall so hard that I would need to go to Bunnings to get some plaster.

I had to do the same thing twice with YouFoodz. They delivered my food two weeks in a row to two different houses(obviously not their fault, contractors and all). Thankfully they were really understanding once I confirmed that the picture the contractor took was not of my house. Still so annoying but YF was really awesome about it, next day delivery for a replacement.

    • I had a similar issue with AusPost last year. They insisted it was delivered but the photo showed a completely different front door / porch than ours. (Their photo showed red door, bricks etc. and ours is creams). Pointed this out to them, and the ebay seller (who was happy I was acting in their behalf too).

As proof I told them to check on Google Earth too, but they insisted it was 'delivered.'

I have been happy with AusPost previously but this was total idiocy. I even went searching the local area for the photographed door but without any luck. AusPost stand that it was "delivered" stuck but fortunately the ebay seller sent me another item.

AusPost needs to do GPS tracking on these items as well as a photo. It is a simple click on an App. I know because I delivered items on behalf of a Government department few years back. If they could do it then simply so can AusPost. Makes finding their lost parcels easier.

Yesterday I had a padded envelope delivered to the door as it was too big for letterbox. Fortunately it was unbreakable as the motorbike rider did not even get off but just threw it onto the porch and took off immediately. Perhaps we should get security cameras fitted.

  • Odd. I bought a soundbar if kogan couple days ago for $130 and required a signature.

    • both my items bought at same tome around that price did not require signature, arrived 2 seperate days. got one, not the other. First one dumped at door

Well there has been a development. Kogan has sent me a copy of a signature that is not mine and looks like no ones, supplied by Australia Post

my motor mist fan has turned up. Turns out Australia Post delivered it to the wrong address and found it by GPS, but at the same time they sent me this email No explanation or apology for 4 days of worry and implying that it was sent to my address in the first place!

    Update for Investigation - 27952504

    Hi Pamela

    Re: Article (Tracking ID)

We have an update on the delivery of your Parcel Post item.

I have met with the driver responsible for the delivery of this item, and after reviewing route and tracking information, they recall that your item was accepted by an occupant of the address.

Thanks for taking the time to contact us. I hope that this information assists you.

    Kind Regards,
    Vipul

Had the same thing happen a while back. Tracking says delivered, nothing in my mailbox. Chased it up with AusPost first and they sent me a photo of the parcel in the mailbox… wasn't my mailbox and they had delivered it to a different address. Sent them proof of that using Google Maps where you can clearly see the mailbox at my address didn't match the one in the photo, so they finally admitted fault. But then they claimed the driver retrieved it from the wrong address and delivered it to me, which was a lie as it still hadn't arrived.

After that, they said it will be marked as a missing parcel and therefore can only deal directly with Kogan about it. Went to Kogan with all of the info and they were good about it, they just sent a replacement and chased up the missing one with AusPost.

Im looking at parcel lockers and other options now

  • I ordered the kogan sim with voucher for 90 days port over offer,
I paid $10 with gift card and 4.9 with google pay.
The kogan website doesnt show any tracking number
rather just says item DELIVERED ??
How the heck is Kogan allowed to do that???

I am honestly feeling robbed by KOGAN AUSTRALIA, They do not have any phone number to call.

I put my address and details correctly on the kogan website but i think kogan either just never me item and marked it delivered or it sent to wrong address, or auspost/courier sent to wrong address.

Now i am wondering if the voucher they gave me was Fake or real?
