Foxtel Now: Free 10 Day Trial + 4 Months at $15 Per Month (Essential Package) – Normally $25/Mth

100

So, after using up my 10 day free trial, paying for one month @ $25 (because I forgot to cancel the debit) I went in again to cancel my subscription and was offered $10 off each month for 4 months. It's not the greatest app, and at $25 it's hard to justify, but for $15 –more in line with competitors– it's a pretty reasonable and cost effective way to catch up on some of the bigger TV shows like Succession, The Righteous Gemstones, GoT, Barry etc.

I don't believe the offer is targeted; beyond of course to those who are seeking to cancel an active subscription. Do be mindful that this may not work when cancelling the free trial itself i.e. without having paid for 1 month previously.

Put your hand up if you're a content streaming business and you're worried that you're gonna be the one who gets squeezed out by Disney.

offered $10 off each month for 4 months

Looks like it, title needs to be amended.

Frankly, Id sooner stare at a blank screen than give my money to Murdoch.

Does it have sky News? Need balanced coverage after hearing lefty ABC.

      Balanced Murdoch owned news service?

      Good luck!

      • Sky News Australia is right down the centre. You must be confusing their after dark opinion with their straight news which is least biased in the country.

        • Everyone thinks their favourite news source is unbiased :)

          • @Hinee: Their straight news is. You're confusing their after dark opinion with their balanced news.

RWNJs often confuse facts as left wing.

Nope, ABC is hard left, hard green. Hatred of private business and the free thinking individual.

Rupe we know it's you really.

ABC is a leftard hijacked public broadcaster with zero concience or ethics.
Running up to elections they make their allegiance very obvious with no apologies.
The only ones to deny this known fact are diehard lefties.

        • +1

You're totally on the mark here. I don't watch Sky News either tbh, I get my news online but ABC is far left, hard green and hipster-centric.

        • -1

It’s not so much the ABC is moving to the left but that politics has taken a hard turn to the right. Even Malcolm Fraser (a conservative prime minister from a more conservative era) seems like a hardcore lefty now.

          • @roller: We live in a time of very high progressive taxation, huge government spending and big regulation. The political climate has hardly moved in a "hard turn to the right", quite to the contrary.

            • -1

@wooroongarra: @mateoka that’s a pretty narrow focus and again I would point you at former conservative prime ministers who have commented our progressive taxation is not progressive enough. Reagonomics inverted the conservative taxation agenda and we’ve been chasing the same myth ever since. Regulation has increased but not in a move to the left in a big government sense but to the hard right in a facist controlling sense. Is there a single week Dutton is not calling for tighter regulation and control on something… and the party listens.

  • Thought it was $15 for 4 months.

  • I’ve been a subscriber for a while and notice I already pay $15 a month. Seems they upped it? I tried to cancel and was told that if I reactivate I’ll need to pay $25/m.
