So as the title suggests it it possible to replace the mesh on a herman miller seat pan as mine has just about had it.
Is there a business that can do this?
What is the material called?
Ofcourse I have googled and youtubed, but I dont see any information other than replacing the pan for $300.
Sellers on ebay also sell the pan without the mesh, so it partially points to a mesh being available but not really.
Mine is older than 12 years old and is still perfectly solid, I just need to replace the mesh soon.
They do exist, but aren't common.
Living Edge would be able to sell a genuine replacement pan but probably for $300 like the OP says.
If one part is $300, just buy a another new one, 12 year extended warranty for all the remaining parts? ;)
Ahh, I paid $294 8 years ago for my whole chair from a business that was shutting down. Hopefully another deal like that comes along before my mesh fully goes!

From what I can see on ebay, it looks like people are only selling pan in used condition, not new. They're probably in a similar situation to you, where they've bought a new pan with mesh complete and are selling the broken one 'for parts'.
No idea how one would use that part, without the mesh though. Maybe someone has a broken pan frame and the mesh is still in good condition … but I'm skeptical that it's possible to remove and insert a new mesh.

It's definitely possible. The replacement mesh I linked to above says you just need a cordless screwdriver to replace it.
Pity they don't ship outside the US!
