Find Me A Good (and Cheap) Keyboard, Please

With all the recent keyboard deals (the computer ones, not the musical instrument ones), it reminds me that I too want to find a good keyboard deal. I have been looking around and checking out reviews over the last few days, but haven't really found what I am after.

Basically, I don't need wireles. I don't need a mouse — just a keyboard will do. I don't need all the fancy features, but I am after a buckling spring keyboard that feels like the original IBM Model M. Something you can touch type and it goes click-click-click.

I don't want second hand (I am looking at new keyboards). I want USB so it works on my notebook. I am mainly going to use it at work (where I do a lot of typing). I know the Unicomp guys pretty much are the only one that make those keyboards these days but a new one from US costs at least USD$69 + shipping (those heavy keyboards would be expensive to ship I think).

Anyone know whether any shop in Australia is selling something equivalent (and cheaper)?

Looks like the keyboard i bought from Office works but thats a wireless. the keys dont go click click in a noise sense, but are tactile in feel. they are also raised, not like the flatish laptop keyboards so more typewriterish and $10 after rebate.

  • Digital Media Pro Keyboard? I might need to check that out although I usually can't stand keyboard with way too many function/media keys…

    • Whattda ya want for $10 —- a bit of duct tape over the offending key's and viola…. LOL ;-)
