Bought a Vodafone TV Box and Hate It

I bought a Vodafone TV box after recommendations on this site but I keep having problems with it. The first was that it would always fail to download the initial software update (I even plugged it to my modem via LAN to no avail). The update finally worked randomly 1 month later. The next issue I was hoping the update would fix, but it didn't, is that it seems to lose internet connection randomly which instead of just buffering for a second, like my Chromecast very rarely would do, it requires a press of the remote to 'continue watching.' The third issue is that it now will only Look like it's loading, but never actually load, when being cast to by a phone (via YouTube or Stan).

Has anyone had these problems with theirs? I have tried factory resetting.

    I have three in my house. They're amazing and by far the best smart TV box we've used - especially for Plex (our main/only app we use).

    I too found it would lose network connection. I think this is to do with DHCP assignment from the router though and leases expiring. The solution for me was to set static IPs. No issues since. Prior to this, I just did a restart (hold power button on the remote)

    I rarely use chromecast on it, when I do it is OK. I must say, though, I have only done it a handful of times.

      Thanks. I have already changed to a static IP when trying to get the update to download. I feel like my experience is not matching the reviews of others so maybe there is a fault with mine.

    I own two of them and found I’ve never experienced no internet drops I do however experience the need to press a button after a while to continue watching something.
    I enjoy my Foxtel now box more.

    The only issue with mine is that when clicking into a YouTube video, 60% of the time it won't load. I have to go in and out, then maybe try a different video or 3, then once a video loads I can go back and click on the original one and it will load.

    Since I only watch one show on FTA, I prefer the Mi Box.

      I get this to occassionally too. I think I'll go back to my Chromecast Ultra.

      Thought it was a HDMI cable issue, but connecting computer to screen with same cable had no problems
