  • Which games does it control?

    • I guess any game that is compatible

      • +1

How do you tell if a game is compatible?

      • Lol.. that's like saying it works with everything on a list which has nothing on it…

    • Heaps since iOS 13 (and whatever the new tvOS is)
      https://controller.wtf/mfi-games
Should work like any standard Bluetooth PC controller (but if you have xbox or ps4 you can use those controllers too)

  • Can use for Apple TV ?

    • +1

tvOS 13 supports MFi (Made for iOS) Bluetooth controllers which this supports iOS so it should work. Refer to this web page. https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT210414

Any how i just bought it and will try it with my Apple TV 4K.

      • Should just have to connect it in devices under settings then good to go

        • Yeah i tried it and it works with the Apple TV 4K.

    • Apples latest update also now lets you use Bluetooth Xbox Controllers and PS4 controllers for Apple TV & iPads

    Kogan Elite Wireless Gaming Controller

So is there a non elite cheaper variant? lol

  • Looks like a nice, simple controller for kids/smaller hands.

    Can anyone confirm?

    • +5

Well I decided to try one.. worst case scenario I have a spare controller if I ever get a friend / player 2.

      • +5

        @AlienC I hope you get a friend!!

        • +2

          \o/

      • If it's a crap controller they may not be your friend after using it :)

        • Yeah I realised from another ozbargainer's comment that it didn't have some buttons I wanted for fighting games so I cancelled my order.

That's the manual, said it supports mouse mode. Could be good for 9 bucks.

Going to take my chance, hopefully a cheap second control for the new Shield ;-)

    • +1

Yeah good luck. I bought one for my Shield too and another for my Apple TV.

  • Thank you ordered one.
Hopefully it works with iPad and nba2k. Gives me something to do on the plane

Uses Bluetooth so violates Aeroplane mode.
      Be mindful.

      • Yeah nah… you can re-activate Wifi and Bluetooth again after activating Airplane mode.
        https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/android-airplane-mode/

        • Look, you can re-activate Bluetooth. But if you were asked to turn on flight mode, which does disable Bluetooth, why would you do the exact opposite?

          • +1

            @sud: https://www.facebook.com/JetstarAustralia/posts/hi-jetstar-c…

I'm just as confused. But basically it depends on which airline and which aircraft. Rule of thumb is during taxi, take off and landing, touch nothing. When you're in the air, maybe ask a flight attendant.

          • +2

@sud: Look at it this way… If it was a problem they wouldn't allow activation of BT or Wifi on Flight mode just like cellular. There are far more nefarious signals in the air which cannot be controlled by Airplane mode. Bluetooth is fine.

            @sud:

why would you do the exact opposite?

flight mode is to deactivate your mobile signal, not bluetooth.

there's no problem using bluetooth, except when taking off and landing when ALL electronic devices need to be off.

This policy very much depends on the airline. Most airlines do not require such devices to be off at all, and Qantas even lets you use your mobile phone right from boarding until disembarkation.

Just be careful, if you pair your controller to a 737 MAX, remember to disable MCAS in settings

    • +1

@bdl Thanks for the links, very helpful!
      Bluetooth 3.0, size 130 x 60 x 14 mm.
For reference a 375mm can of coke is 125mm high by 65mm wide.
So similar in size to a can of coke, pretty small!!
I bought one, $9 including shipping, pretty good.

  • +3

I guess I can go without heavy kick and heavy punch for $9

    • +1

lol (profanity) you are right I did not think this purchase through.. there are no left and right buttons which would be a huge drawback for some fighting games like Tekken 7 lol (profanity) ok hopefully I can cancel this now asap

edit: phew thankfully kogan has a pretty good cancel/refund order system protocol in place just go to order history and click view and at the bottom you can see a cancel order button.. nice lol

I only needed this for fighting games mainly and yeah just realised it is lacking some buttons

      good catch man

      • Does Tekken 7 use more than the 4 hit buttons of every other Tekken game in history?

        It's not SF.

        • I'm a huge SF fan.
But a 4 button $9 Ryu seems better value than a 6 button ~$30 Ryu.

  • Does it work on Ras Pi?

    • I would guess that it does, given it supports windows, and it's just an input device. But can't say for sure.

      • Thanks

    • +1

It is missing shoulder buttons making SNES a newer console games difficult to play.

  • Thank OP. Got one.

  • +2

With shoulder buttons I might have been interested, but it still doesn't look bad, just limited.

  • $9 why not… thanks op!

  • Good stuff, just need a bit of electrical tape for the Kogan logo and we're set.

  • thanks, ordered
