Any Current Deals on Philips Airfryer

Hey guys,

I've seen many Philips airfryer on sale here and as recent as september, but never had the need for one.

Now the wife has used one and think it's a good idea to get one, she almost bought a Kmart special but thought she'd ask me before purchasing one. Seeing as so many good reviews for the philips, I think I'd stick to a known brand.

Are there any current specials around for anything bigger than the XL model.

    They seem to be all expired. You could try your luck by visiting the expired websites and seeing if any deals have returned.

    • Yeah I've tried the amazon, myer and ebay links. No luck

  • An airfryer is an oven with a trendy name. Save your money and your bench space, use the oven.

      This is true but an air fryer can be useful for a couple - heats quickly and doesn't take a lot of power. OP, the Kmart one is workable but check the amount space in the basket before deciding.

    Kmart have introduced a larger size 5.3 Litre Air Fryer for $89.00.

    If the Kmart 3.2 Litre Air Fryer, which is only $69.00, isn't big enough it is worth considering.

  • Pretty sure Costco has one if you have a membership

  • i was about the purchase the Phillips one, but decided to give the K-Mart one a go first.

    K-Mart one is actually very good well worth the money.

    Now i want to upgrade to the new bigger 5.3L version lol

    • Thanks for the feedback. Would love to hear someone who have experienced both units.

      • kmart one rate very well online 3.5L i personal own cheap kogan deal for $33 it was on ozBargain best thing i ever did.

    • I was in Kmart yesterday and they had several 5.3L versions on a pallet near the entrance.

      One jumped into my trolley and begged me to buy it - which I did.

      Lots more cooking room, if it's as good as the 3.2L one I have I'll be more than happy.

      • i want to upgrade to the new 5.3L one too lol

        please let me know if its as good as the old one

        • A bit early to tell yet but I threw a handful of chips into the new one and they took a little less time to cook - due to more room for the hot air to circulate maybe?

          The analogue controls are OK, up to 5 minutes on the timer is a little 'vague' feeling but apart from that if it performs as good as the 3.2L on you can't go wrong for $89 upsizing.

          • @Hithere: How does the timer dial work? Is it like those old ovens where the dial is spring loaded and slowly ticks to zero ending in a bell? Can you add more time by turning the dial while it is going?

              @skid:

              Is it like those old ovens where the dial is spring loaded and slowly ticks to zero ending in a bell?

              That's the one. Been around for ever, even the same sounding bell, probably cheaper to supply than digital.

              Can you add more time by turning the dial while it is going?

              Haven't tried that yet but I'm guessing, like the old ovens, you can.

              • @Hithere: Does the air fryer stop when the timer stops? Or it just rings and continues cooking?

                I like the current unit set and forget…

                • @vince088: It stops completely with 1 'Ding' which is quite loud, to let you know your food is ready.

                  Set and forget is my preference also :)

                @Hithere: EDIT

                Can you add more time by turning the dial while it is going?

                Yes, tried it tonight adding an extra 10 minutes to the timer while cooking meal.

  • Thanks mate

  • I'm on the lookout for an airfryer too, tempted at the Kmart ones but surely quality cannot be that great at that price, so figured should just suck it up and buy a Phillips.

    Saw this for $229 which seems like a good price? DJ has the same model for $250 but the XXL for $299.

    Haven't checked if it can stack with any other discounts/cashbacks..

  • Hi guys…

    about to buy a new Airfryer to get rid of my Philips HD9240 XL.

    Browsed Philips website and some popular retailers, and compared HD9651/91 vs HD9650/93. In general HD9651 is cheaper by $30 -$50, but it come with double layer accessories and cookbook. In terms of technical spec, they look pretty much the same. (during the promo in Aug, the price difference is even larger)

    outside the box, philips emphasized "Fat removal technology" on HD9651 and "Twin Turbostar Technology" on HD9650, but actually both wordings can be found in product pages of both model…..

    Chatted with Philips helpdesk, but obviously the girl is reading the page to me….

    so.. my question is, except the price and accessories included, what are the difference???

    Thanks in advance

    • That, I would like to know too!

      Been looking at these two. The HD9651/91 is listed as a "clearance" model on The Good Guys, whilst the HD9650/93 is listed as "new". That would make some sense for the price difference.

      As far as I can tell, from my research, the two units are the same except for:
      * HD9651/91 includes a "Double Layer" accessory
      * HD9651/91 is heavier (8.28kg vs 7.99kg)
      * HD9651/91 has physical buttons
      * HD9650/93 has a touch panel
