Looks like Target's 20% off LEGO toys extends to the new sets that were released today.

Fair enough. I posted it for people who wanted to get the new sets now at the best price. As far as I can see, Target is the only place with the new sets available with a discount.
Myer have the new sets available but they are excluded from the current LEGO sale.
Good looking sets I will say, but you can't escape the fact that the Resistance Y-Wing and Mandalorian AT-ST are mostly just re-skinned versions of the previous non-UCS 75172 Y-Wing and 75153 AT-ST.
When I first went into Lego I went heavy Star Wars .
Boy did that teach me a lesson :)
I wouldn't call that a mistake by any means.
The real mistake is broadening your Lego horizons beyond your original selection into the most expensive and space-consuming themes like Creator/City/Ideas/Technic/Ninjago lines.
It's best to pick a theme or two and stay with them; unless you prefer being a divorced and bankrupt hoarder.
Star Wars is still the best theme in my opinion, especially for those who are buying Lego exclusively to use as display pieces. The flagship Lego UCS sets are just so far ahead of every other theme in terms of accuracy, detail, construction techniques and real-life presence, even compared to some of the really good Marvel/DC Comics UCS sets.
Because of my start with Star Wars the only sets I have on display is that big Tie Fighter 75095 and Porg. Can't touch em because they are master pieces built by one of my kids . But join two themes of Star Wars and Super Heroes they are both on the appreciation front crap.
For me I want some themes that are popular have good appreciation history and are free of reprints ( at least at this point) :)
@profar: Chima is where it’s at.

I'm not sure what you mean by this.
Lego Star Wars is in the top 5 themes annually in terms of sales and has been over the last 10 years (for both licenced and non-licenced themes).
It's also one of the most extensive themes in terms of the number of sets under its category and with the exception of Lego City, Lego Technic and Mindstorms, it's the 4th-oldest theme still in production.
Every Lego theme of a similiar age and popularity does re-releases and regurgitations of previous sets. There's nothing wrong with that, Lego designs and technology improves dramatically as time goes on and fans want to see their sets look as good as they possibly can with the current era of Lego, otherwise if it weren't for re-releases we'd be stuck with this hunk of crap to represent the Slave I, as opposed to this modern masterpiece which is the best-looking Lego set to date in my opinion.
I love the UCS line, but in terms of 'wow factor,' you can't beat Creator modulars. I have 11 of them built into a street with LED lighting running between. Even the UCS Falcons don't get as much attention, because a city street is instantly recognisable and understood by anyone.
@SydStrand: Yeah but not everyone has the space and/or willing cohabitants to have an entire Lego city permanently on display in their house. It'd be nice but individual UCS sets are much easier to work into the average home without becoming ridiculously obtrusive; you can have them on shelves, counters or cabinets (or suspended from ceilings if that's your thing).
The Lego Creator modular sets really do nothing for me. I appreciate their intricate interiors certainly but I just don't care for representing the mundane, everyday world stuff in Lego.
The new UCS Star Destroyer is to me, a million times more interesting to marvel at than a corner garage or a diner. I do think they're great for kids though, because they are far more interactive and have the best play potential.
Some 4000 Flybuy Points for $99 purchase floating around for Target .
4000 points are worth $20, I believe.
$36 on amazon if using shopback 7%.
Not bad if you’re a fat slob like me and never leave the house and use prime to get everything you need.

Looks like Star Wars Episode 9 (the movie) is going to be a re-skinned Return of the Jedi

I went to the chirnside park vic store earlier tonight to get a box of the a-wing and y-wing. after i took mine there was roughly 3 boxs left of the a-wing and y-wing each and about 6 boxs of the pasaana speeders if anyone lives in the area and wants to get their own. i didnt see any boxs for the new AT-STs.
Not to diss the deal but this is the standard 20% off lego. I'd wager that if anyone was to wait a few months, there'll be a Myer ebay voucher discount that stacks with another 20% Myer sale.
