My Sony Alpha ILCE-3500J DSLR camera started not turning on intermittently but now it just won't turn on at all.
I believe that the battery is fully charged because when I plug in the USB charging cable the orange LED comes on for about 5 seconds or so then turns off.
I have tried Sony's suggested test of turning the camera off, removing the battery, turn it bacl on again and hold down the shutter button for at least 30 secounds. Then I turn it off, reinstall the battery and try turning it on again. No response from the camera.
I have orderd another battery but I have a feeling that the problem is not the battery itself.
Does this sound like a common or familiar problem with this camera?

This is the first I have read of this issue for that model on this website.
Is the battery actually holding a charge? Maybe try measuring it with a multimeter and see if it's outputting the right voltage.
