Changes to AIA Vitality Flights

Was just checking the AIA Vitality flight benefits and saw this:

We will shortly be announcing some changes to the flight benefit! In the lead up to this announcement, we are testing to ensure everything is working correctly. This means you may see AIA Vitality flags on flights with other airlines, to destinations that were not previously eligible for status-based cashback. As these are AIA Vitality flagged flights, you will receive any status-based cashback for which you're eligible if you proceed to booking.

Did a quick search and it looks like flights with Singapore Airlines and Etihad are now eligible (maybe other Virgin codeshare partnerships too?). More destinations like LHR, FRA.

  • I haven't booked flights with AIA but apparently you have to use the portal and at rack rates rather than current promotions.
Where as before it was any flight and just applied for rebate

  • +1

I booked Virgin via the portal and the rate was the same as current promotion.

    • Good to know!

  • amazing news, thanks!

  • this is incredible, hopefully they keep the tiers the same

  • I just checked flights to LA, exactly the same flight with a family of 3, the Virgin portal was quoting $7084, while the airline website was quoting $7083. So about the same

  • Don't know if anyone actually booked decent deal with Virgin Australia through AIA.

I was looking for Mel-Per in November and the only flights with Special Fare tag are the flights that are double the price. It's better off to book the ones with no tag.

  • I am looking for Melb - Tokyo and there are no flights at all. Not sure the "Special" fare will be released once virgin resumes flights to Japan
