Just had to return a Hisense 65RG as it had a fault and not getting another. Piece of crap to be honest.
So I need some help on recommending a 65 incher for under $1600. Must be 4k of course.
So tell me what and why please Ozbargainers.

everyone was telling me they're 1000x better than my TCL 65" piece of dirt poo poo I bought 2 years ago
What was the fault?
There was a split between the frame and the panel which was letting a thin strip of light through.
But the OS is slow and took an eternity to boot up and load apps. Really disappointed as it was less than a week when I noticed this.
the RG you had would've had android OS right? android oreo?
I purchased 2 x 65" Aldi tv's for 599 a piece.. The picture quality is fantastic for that price.. In my opinon, its not worth getting anything else unless you go for an Oled. But that will likely set you back more than 1600 bucks..
the worst tv to watch sport. my in laws bought it and when they saw our panasonic picture they went and bought a samsung
I have a 2 year Aldi 65" TV. Very happy with it
Hey OP,
Always avoid Android TVs, they really are all sluggishly slow.
Really it's best to get a Chinese Android box (this being the cheapest option) or they get the Xiaomi, Vodafone Android boxes which to keep things short are much better, and the best is the Nvidia Shield TV.
Sounds like you've had bad luck with the TV's lighting problem thought.
I'd recommend getting the Hisense 65R7. From a quick check it's basically the 65RG without the Android part. Some Ozbargainers have linked to it here costing about a 1k.
65" TV for $1600 or less and
