sounds like about right. most "sales" have them at around $200 on ebay.
Any under 250 currently? Not really keen to wait. Looking to OW price match
@MagicMushroom: I think there's a couple of knock-off's that trick the iPhone into thinking they're AirPods, and are supposed be identical in all ways except price.
@Kangal: You replied to a Kogan link? Kogan won't sell fakes.
Knockoffs are on aliexpress etc though. I bought a pair for around $20. The battery was messed up and they were unusable, got a refund. If they held a charge they'd be alright though. Sound was surprisingly decent.

The cheap ones you tried probably were cheap for a reason. Do a bit of research, and get the more expensive ones. The one I linked to goes for $60-$90, which is a steal compared to the $200-$300 original ones. I say its a steal because now the iPhone gets tricked into thinking these are genuine AirPod 2's and connects normally, and they have the same battery life and features (touch control, proximity sensor, mics, etc etc). So functionally you're getting the same thing (practically) but at 20%-50% of the cost. You can buy x2 - x5 of the knockoff ones, which might be a good idea if you lose them, damage them, or wear the battery out.
@Kangal: Didn't mean to criticise, just wasn't sure if you were implying that the Kogans might be dodgy. I think (not 100%) if you had replied to xuuj the flow would look about the same, so wasn't sure if that was intentional. Also because some people already think Kogan is massively dodgy etc
Also just noticed the tone of the rest of my post was way off what I meant. I actually meant that they were pretty good, I just got a faulty unit unfortunately. I trimmed out some other stuff I had written in support of them and it sounded more cautionary than intended.
Got mine from the wireless1 eBay sale today. $228 With wireless charge case. Sold my Bose QC35Q11. I liked them but the update lowered the anc, AirPods better for calls and swapping between iPhone, iPad and iMac, and the Bluetooth range is heaps longer. Might get the new 700 when prices drop for flights.
Cheapest proce I found was about $199. Wait for the next eBay sale e.g. Wireless1.
