Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adaptor - $70 Delivered - Mighty Ape

50

Gave them a call and they told me this is a legit product from M$, cause I heard the one at Ozgameshop for $75 was a clone?

Saying that, apparently the one at Dealextreme is legit?

If so, it blows this deal out of the water, and I will get the mods to remove it ; )

This is not for everyone, as a lot of people prefer to use a bridged wireless access point / EOP / ethernet etc.

Dealextreme is a fake. I did a lot of research on these and found most of them to be fake apart for the $$$ ones

No sure about mightyape, you just need to be careful

I would second that I have two DX 360 controllers, they are almost flaweless replicas, but both only lasted 7 months, Snapped one stick. D-pad not worrking on the other one.
Inside it is easy to tell them apart. you really do get what you pay for.

    • Ah yep - have just seen your post:

Maybe the Mighty ape rep can shed some light on this one, cause the person I spoke to was adamant it was legit.

If it is, it is fricken cheap!

    • FYI: Kiwis man the Mighty Ape! ;-)

  • I bought a "refurbished" Xbox360 wireless adaptor from Dealextreme. Not sure if it was real or fake but it didn't work so I returned it. I bought the M$$$$ one.

  • I think it's a pretty safe assumption that ANYTHING you buy from Deal Extreme is a fake, regardless what it says in the description.

This deal from Mighty Ape looks legit, but I imagine it's hard to tell. The main difference I can see between the Deal Extreme version and the picture provided by MightyApe is the Microsoft Certified mirror sticker on the bottom of the box.

  • I just ordered one, i just did a little reading on the company… kiwi mob, no negative comments about fakes so far… I concur, stuff I have ordered from dealextreme so far have been fakes.

  • Hi guys,
I just got the xbox360 elite model… My wifi router is far from the xbox and cant use the cable as its in another room. What is a bridged wireless access point? Can anyone help me for a cheaper option than the wifi router for xbox360 which are expensive…
    Cheer

  • Is the wireless N adapter from DX any good though?

If it works, then it's worth buying than paying crazy prices from M$

    • I've got the one from DX. It's crap. 5 Ghz reception is terrible. So is 2.4 Ghz :) Signal strength it gets is rubbish, even with clear line of sight 5 meters away.

      I regret buying it.

  • Email response from mighty ape was pretty much instantaneous, saying it will be shipped out tomorrow… At least they have an automated buying process…

  • Have purchased a few things from Mighty Ape before, never had an issue, I have no doubt it will be the real deal.

  • If its an Australian one it will have different packaging to the over seas ones. Its hard to tell a fake tho. I am still not sure if the Mightyape one is real or not, they might not even know 100%

  • From pure speculation and looking at their contents, it appears they are legit. They say normal price is $144, which is expected. I will know soon enough. They claim on their website that it is MS product. And I have not been able to find any negative reviews so far about them. It is a good find if it is legit.
