    • lets say you wants msy to ship to you im going to assume $20 max postage.
it will still be cheaper than your price

        That's the whole point
        * There bargain is in store only *
That means they don't ship for that bargain.
Their online price is $809 + shipping.
        Geez

  • It has been cheaper https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/485852 but if you're willing to wait for another ebay deal which occurs pretty often you can get it at a cheaper price

I guess it's out of stock.

Everyone familiar realises this product has been mostly unavailable since launch in July because it's in such high demand and there's not enough to go around.

Good luck waiting for more stock at that price.

These are some of the worst responses from a store rep in some time.

        • +3

          Simply stating how it is.
I was only able to get my hand on just 1 of these within the first week of launch. This is the first time since then I've been able to get any.
There is an issue with AMD and TSMC (who make the chiplets) being able to make enough to meet demand.
FYI if you google 'TSMC 7nm Supply Delays' there's plenty of info out there.

Considering the responses have been "bad deal because

          • In store only deal with MSY"

          • Expired eBay coupons with very limited stock"

I can't totally say I can blame them. The only store that matches this price right now is shopping express according to PC part picker, and would be the 4th cheapest according to StaticeICE. And with how Australian stores are I'd be willing to bet they don't offer free shipping, which would negate the $5 - $10 read they have on this deal.

    What an arrogant seller.

    • +5

I'd be a bit shitty too if I got a neg vote with a dumb ass comment attached.

    • +4

People expect me to sell well below my cost, I guess I'll have to stick to 2min instant noodles for lunch next week too lol.
Also not enough sleep all week as I've been working. So I'm sorry if I came across as snarky.

Here’s a solution. Don’t sell below your cost and wait for some person to buy it if you. Just telling you now, ain’t any smart people on this website be touchin’ your website.

    • As posted in reply to another comment.

      • ShoppingExpress are currently doing free delivery on the 3900x, with a bonus bottle opener.

At this price the 1950X Threadripper may be a better deal: you'll lose 400Mhz "boost" assuming you get 4.6Ghz and the TR boosts to 4.2Ghz but you get PCI lanes on the CPU.

    • +4

That "400mhz" is paired with a Zen 2 CPU, with the vastly improved chilled chiplet design. This thing's flog the 1950x, so unless they're selling for $500 - $550 it won't be worthwhile.

Why so low? Because x399 is a hell of a lot pricier then the mainstream b45p/x470 boards. Even the x570 boards.

      • 12 core 2920x for $511 here:
        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AMD-TR4-Ryzen-Threadripper-2920X…

I'm not saying it's the better choice, and as N1NJ4 said motherboards are expensive

        • For some TR is the better option (memory channels, io, pcie lanes). Yes motherboards are more expensive though and will often negate any savings.
It might also be worthy option if you want to start on an X399 platform and expand to a higher end TR in the future.

It's $805 on Amazon. What do you mean?

      • +1

Cheaper on Amazon with cashback lol

        • -3

You keep saying lol like it means something

  • Australia must have received a relatively large allocation of 3900X processors. Reports from the US are saying that the 3900X is very low on stock and even retailers are scalping their prices.

    • Might be that TSMC managed to meet AMD's demand for chiplets lol. Although I think it's only short term as I'm pretty confident AMD is focussing on meeting server demand for their EPYC chips (check "Moore's Law is Dead" latest youtube video on the topic).
In my personal experience it's usually not the retailers that price scalp, but further up the supply chain in between the vendor and retailer. But that could be just that I'm a massively smaller volume seller compared to other retailers so might not be the case for the large volume sellers.
