Game Pass Ultimate for Xbox and PC $2/2 Months at Microsoft.

This is a targeted offer.

If you are not eligible, you might be able to use it if you create a new account (or use a different existing account) log into Xbox with the other account, make it your home Xbox, and share the Ultimate subscription.

But you might have to use a different payment method than your main account (I haven't tried this, so I'm not sure that would work, but in theory it should).

Also, in another post, a lot of people couldn't "stack" their subscriptions, until they turned off "Recurring Billing" in their Microsoft account.

Note: Purchase of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate automatically upgrades your existing Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass membership(s) to Ultimate at a conversion ratio each based on days remaining (up to 36 months) www.xbox.com/gamepass

    New customers only?

    • I read the whole thing, and I couldn't find any information about that, but it does say that it may be limited to some members, so it could be a targeted offer.

Ps. If it is targeted, could someone let me know, so I can edit this post, thanks.

I have an active subscription, and the price changes to $15.95 when I sign in.

        • Then it's almost certainly targeted.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll edit this post when one or two other people say the can't claim it either (just in case it was a fluke or something).

        • Same here.

When I'm signed in one account without xbox live gold/ultimate I see the offer.

When I sign into my account with xbox live ultimate on it, I get $15.99 too.

I'm not sure if it's targeted or for new subscribers only.

Ps. If you just want to play the games on the game pass, you could create another account, and use that (if you don't mind not collecting achievements etc).

I bought the $1 month when this subscription first launched, and just bought it again now for $2 on the same account. So it works for existing customers

      • Same

        • Right, so it's targeted, but not necessarily at new subscribers.

          Thanks, for the feedback.

      • I got that $1 deal months ago. since that expired, i can never buy those cheap deals again. the best i can get is $15.95 for three months.

  • *Not valid for existing subscribers, other exclusions apply. Credit card required. Offer valid from 19/08/2019 9:00 AM PDT to 30/09/2019 11:59 PDT and only through link in this offer, in all Xbox Game Pass markets excluding Quebec and Russia. Offer cannot be combined with any other offer. After promotional period, subscription continues to be charged at the then-current regular price (subject to change), unless cancelled. Plus applicable taxes. Credit card required. Game catalogue varies over time. Limit 1 offer per account.

    • Is that on the same page?

      Because I get this:
"Sign in for your available offers. Promotional offers may not be valid for all members and are only available for a limited time. Offers not valid in Quebec and Russia; other geographic restrictions may apply. After promotional period, subscription continues to be charged at the then-current regular price (subject to change), unless cancelled. Plus applicable taxes."

I can't find anything about new users only, just that it may not be available to all members.

Can you tell me where you got the quote, so I can update this post? Thanks.

Seems to be new subscribers only

  • to me, it is an unbelievable deal. even though you dont own the games, for 2 dollars you can have access to so many great games. this service is unrivalled at this point.

  • If it is for new subscribers only, you should be able to create a new account, log in with the new account, and share gold/ultimate on the Xbox.

You might have to use a different payment method to do that.

Edit: no, some existing subscribers said (a couple of comments above) that they are eligible, so it's targeted, but I have no idea who Microsoft is targeting

  • I just remembered - in a different post relating to xbox live gold/ultimate https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/481996

Some people said they were able to get that deal, but only after they turned off recurring billing in their Microsoft account.

  • I think this is the most economical way for Ultimate Game Pass if you have no active XBox subscriptions.

Buy 3 x 12 months of Brazilian XBox Live Gold from CD-Keys for $57.20 each or $171.60 total not using a VPN, at:
    https://www.cdkeys.com/12-month-xbox-live-gold-membership-xb…

Then use Incognito mode and a VPN set to Brazil, and redeem those 3 codes at:
    https://redeem.microsoft.com/enter?ref=xboxcom

Disconnect from VPN then pay $1 to Microsoft to convert to Ultimate XBox Game Pass at:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/p/xbox-game-pass-ultimate/cf…

Or $43.80 for 12 months if you can take advantage of this deal (no VPN needed for this one, but it's targeted) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/481996

      • Yeah, that is a much better deal. Cheers.

        • +1

Yes, but not everyone can get it, because it's targeted. Hope it works for you.

          • +1

            @BooYa: It did, thank you.

I had already purchased one from CD-Keys, but I topped up from the deal you linked. So I don't feel too bad.

            Now to buy Ultimate.

            • +1

              @FabMan: That's great.

It also shows it's not targeted at new subscribers only, since you already had a Gold subscription from CDKeys.

  • Good deal but the Windows 10 app for this is terrible. I struggled to even install a game after purchasing the pass. All sorts of unhelpful errors.

Offer was available on my existing account that used to have Xbox Live Gold subscription so doesn't seem to be new accounts only.

    • You mean it's also for those who don't currently have an active subscription. But have had a previous subscription which had expired.

      • When I'm signed out of xbox/Microsoft I see $2/2 months.

I think that's the default price.

I'm not sure even Microsoft knows who's going to see what price (different prices for the same product, in different countries and different users).
