  • sydney only?

    • This offer is open for NSW and ACT applications however your card can be used at most our locations across Australia. Thank you!

      • Hi All, applications are open for NSW only - thank you.

Does this involve a credit worthiness check with the usual reporting agencies?

I'm concerned that an application for something as trivial as car parking is going to appear on my credit report, which isn't good for a lot of people who are looking to buy a home etc in the future.

    • Hi There, there is an internal credit assesment and all accounts need to adopt the auto-pay system.

      • +1

You did not answer my question - "Does this involve a credit worthiness check with the usual reporting agencies?"

Edit for clarification: Does your 'internal check' contact any external agencies or credit reporting firms?

      • +1

Does this involve a credit check with Veda Advantage, for example, or any other external agency?

        • Hi, no it does not go to a third-party or external company and therefor no enquiry will be noted on your credit file. All Advantage Parker account applications are checked internally and must be on auto payments by way of bank account or credit card. I hope this is helpful.

  • Per application form:

Bonus Parking Credit to the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) is applied to your advantage parker account on your third (3) monthly billed cycle with us and is forfeited if unused on commencement of your fourth (4) month with us.

Might want to add that to description.

    • So, you have to wait for 3 months before the credit gets applied? Also, do you need to actually use the SecureParking card prior to that in order to activate it?

    • Good spotting. Actually confirms what I was thinking: this isn't really a 'bargain' for your average Jo bloe ozbargainer, it's really a little incentive for corporations to use.

      • Hi, the credit is applied instantly and expires within three months. The card is activated on your first use. It is a convenince card and handy to keep in your wallet or purse. It costs you nothing to apply or keep the card - no monthly fees or minimum spends. Hope this helps answer your question.

        • Just to reconfirm, if I apply for a card today and as soon as it's delivered, it is preloaded with the $50 credit which will expire when on the 4th month?

        • Yes, that is correct - sorry that it is incorrect on the application form.

  • this for businesses with fleets
    or individuals as well?

    • Its for all applications, singular and multi-cards - business or personal!

  • Edited.

    • Pls read above :)

  • if u apply for multiple cards does each one get the $50?

    • No, just per account no cards sorry!

  • Don't bother - this card is useless at all the automated carparks where they only have machines for paying. Those machines don't accept this card.

You must pay the attendant using this card. Which also doesn't work if you are driving out of the carpark after hours because the office will not be attended, i.e., you have to use their payment machines which don't take this card.

    Useless

    • -1

That is incorrect information. The card can be used at automated car park however only with Secure Parking. Please visit our website for car par locations www.secureparking.com.au and look for the Advantage Parker in the product key to see if it is available at your desired location. Thank you

      • Obviously I tried it at Secure Parking!

It is not incorrect - I tried it at the Secure Parking car park at 59 Lonsdale St by putting it in the machine and it didnt even recognise it.

So to all who intend on using this card - you can only do it during staffed hours.

        • Hi There, there will be variations on usage by car park dependant on the equipment that is currently installed. This offer is open for NSW applications, which is where we thought you may have been. So to clarify, some car parks will accept it via the equipment and others via an attendant and some dont accept it all. Feel free to call our team on 1300 727 483 should you wish to enquire about more information on usage at your desired car park.

        • Okay thanks. Can you confirm it works at the Kent St Cinema parking (Sydney), at the machines?

        • Hi There, I have just confirmed that yes, you can use it at the Automatic Pay Machines (APS) in the Cinema Centre car park in Sydney. Hope this is helpful information. :)

If you ever read the disclaimer in their car parks: 'No warranty as to the security of this car park is expressed or is to be implied by the use of the word "Secure" in our logo or trading name.' — what a joke…..

Guys I don't get what everyone here is complaining about. True that it's our job to check the T&Cs and it's nice for the OP to have answered so many questions. Then we have people jumping here bagging it for how hard it can be used and the carpark might not be secure. So parking on the street makes you feel more secure? And yet the local council charges us as much as $6/hr to park our cars in the city, and that is if I could find a spot to park legally.

To me $50 is still $50 I could save from parking my car on the street away from crazy taxi drivers and the sun. So why complain on a genuine bargain?

    • +1

well said chinman! too many haters out there

  • There is a direct debit section in the form, do we have to provide u that info?
    Can we pay manually?

    • Hi, yes you must supply direct debit / auto pay details. This is part of the application requirements. Thank you

  • I tried this last time and never got my credit. :S I'm not sure I'd want to go through it all again.

    • Hi, sorry to hear this. Can you please contact me direct on [email protected] to work this out for you. Thank you so much!

Free should mean free, not a $50 bonus after you spend $xxx
    Negative vote from me.

    • Hi There, Please read through the comments posted to better understand the discussion around this deal. Upon activation of your account, we will instantly preload it with $50 credit to be used within three months. No minimum spens, no set up fees, no ongoing fees - just freely apply and get your FREE $50 BONUS Credit - it's that easy and hope we can change your vote to a positive. If you want more information, just email me direct on [email protected] - thank you!

      • It seems to say something different in the terms though: "Bonus Parking Credit to the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) is applied to your advantage parker account on your third (3) monthly billed cycle with us and is forfeited if unused on commencement of your fourth (4) month with us."

So this to me reads that you've got to get billed at least twice in order to receive the $50. I'm assuming if you spend $0 you don't get billed, so you'll have to spend money to get "free credit".

Maybe I'm missing something, but this seems contradictory to what you said.

        • Hi There, please see comments thread 11/7/2011 at 8.58am …….

Yes, that is correct - sorry that it is incorrect on the application form.

    • If you don't spend anything you still have the $50 of credit for 3 months. I understand that $50 to spend on whatever you want whenever you wanted would be ideal but yah know…that just ain't how things work.

  • Anyone got a response yet?

  • Have anyone got their card yet? Still waiting for mine.
