eBay(Au) - PayPal no longer selling Wish Gift Cards

Hi

I usually buy Wish Gift Cards from eBay PayPal digital gifts but they seem to be unavailable or out of stock at the moment. Even the Dan Murphy and BigW ones only have the $25 denominations in stock. Is this temporary or permanent?

      So you are implying PayPal buys the Wish cards in bulk and then 'distributes' when it's sold?

      I always thought they were just a middlemen that activates a gift card once its been purchased, which is why they should never run out of stock.

        They run out of stock every time one of these eBay gift card deals come up, especially the higher denomination gift cards

        Just wait a few days and they'll get some more in stock

        That assumption is correct. Paypal buy in bulk from Woolworths at a discount (e.g. pay $95,000+ for $100,000 worth of cards) Then Paypal resell the cards at face value on eBay

    PayPal wish gift cards take way too long to activate. Other services will give you wish gift cards instantly.

      Although annoying I don't think it's that big of a deal. It's nice being able to buy a card while shopping with something like Suncorp but considering the 10 off eBay cards are once in a blue moon I wouldn't plan my shopping around them so the wait is ok.

      I buy eBay Gift Cards for 10% discount.
      Use Gift Cards to buy stuff on eBay and then use eBay's price match feature to match better prices on amazon etc.
      eBay provides a eBay voucher for price difference.
      If I can't find stuff to buy on eBay using that voucher, I will buy a wish gift card using the voucher.

        As an OZBargainer I'm embarrassed to say I didn't even know about eBay's price match policy.

          I knew about it but if i recall the conditions and limits are pretty high
