Do you know if the Xiaomi phones on their site are the international versions? Some good prices for the Mi 9 and Mi Mix 3.

    not 6.1 just 6

    • +1

Nokia 6 2018 is also known as Nokia 6.1

      • -3

does not have ac wifi not 6.1

        • +3

          It's a 6.1.
It has USB C and no button on the front.

          • +1

@Sevenine: Has to be a typo on tecobuy then because the 6.1/6(2018) does indeed have AC and tecobuy only says A/B/G/N.

        • Dead wrong.

I had this phone last year for a few months. Nokia 6 was 2017 model and Snapdragon 4xx series. Nokia 6 (2018) is officially called Nokia 6.1

      • depends in which country ….Australian numbering isn't the same as some overseas models, so easy to mix up Australian 6 2018 with 6.1 from overseas, found out when trying to buy a case as they are different size phones ….

Same price delivered at TobyDeals which is owned by the same company, if you prefer (they offer cashback there).

    • Nokia 6 (2018) TA-1043 4GB/64GB Dual Sim SIM FREE/ UNLOCKED - Blue Gold (Nokia 6.1) without Handsfree
      AU$299.00

      AU$195.00
the price comes in higher at $195 before 1.4% cashback?

      • Tecobuy is $180 + $15 Shipping = $195

        Tobydeals is $195 + Free Shipping = $195.

  • OzBargainers,can you recommend a budget smart phone (non-android) for SWMBO….say under $250?
    Thanks in advance.

    • Non-android?

I guess an old probably pre-6 iPhone. You can go to ebay, search "iphone refurbished" and put in your price requirements.

Microsoft and Blackberry OSes are basically dead. Pretty much just Android variants and iOS now.

    • Just wondering what SWMBO is? Haha, I Googled it :-)

    • Why non android?

  • +1

    Thanks DonWilson…I meant iOS mate.
    ozhunter68…."She Who Must Be Obeyed"….lol

  • Great price for solid phone, but $48.90 Delivery fee kills it for my regional postcode and many others just like TobyDeals.

  • What's battery life like, esp for video?

    https://gsmarena.com/nokia_6_1-8972.php gsmarena omits video hours:
    Talk time Up to 16 h (3G)
Music play Up to 119 h

Definitely a better buy than the $159 Vodafone locked Samsung A20 that was posted recently.

Umidigi Power from official AU eBay store is still a better buy than this Nokia, because aus warranty etc.

    • +1

Umidigi is fine, just don't expect (or even hope for) any OS updates from that brand. (I was given one that was maybe 12mths old, so I know)

      • +1

They've had a few updates already, both A5 pro and Power IME.

        • What type of updates did you get? Major new Android OS updates, minor os updates or security, or both?

          • +1

@ozhunter68: Security and phone specific updates.

It's only part of the standard android pie program, with support up until a specific date.

            • @Oofy Doofy: Oh, was not aware of a "standard pie program" apart from Android One, Beta program and Android Project Treble. Any updates usually is better than none.

              • +1

@ozhunter68: 2 years and then on-sell or recycle your device, if you want to keep up with the latest Android.

I stretched a Lenovo Zuk Z2 for almost 3 years, it's also a very moddable phone and even has Google pixel android available. It still holds up well to this day, but has been redeployed as an Android gaming phone for my son.

I am using Nokia 5.1 plus on Android One OS. This Nokia kills all your app if it was not active on your phone eg WhatsApp Viber etc. Very annoying and frustrated by this.

    • +4

That's an android feature though isn't it? Anything from the last iteration or two has that built-in… I had a number of apps notify me when I upgraded, that I'd need to remove them from the auto-kill-battery-saver thing in order to use them backgrounded for extended periods.
I can't remember off the top of my head, but I think it's in the battery view in 'settings', down the bottom, you can see the running apps and tell it what to exclude.

      • +1

        hey nebakke

Are you able to elaborate how you have managed to get your notification not killed by nokia for long periods of time?
I am want to resolve this issue as I have missed a lot of important messages from Vibe, Whatsapp and Wechat when I migrated to Nokia.
        Any help would be appreciated.

  • Lol, I can remember a friend who bought this thing early this year for $350+.

    • I told him the price drop, and it makes him sad.. :(

      • +2

        28 degrees price protection.

But this is a grey import, you don't get any aus warranty and bad service. Can't really compare the price.

    • I think it was even $399 early on after release in store for local stock AND the 3GB ram only model.

This is grey stock and must be close to EOL ( not such a big deal as it will get Android 10 and another year of security updates ), a plus is 4GB/64GB for this low price and has all Australian 4G Bands.
