Airtasker Refund Process upon Task Cancellation

Hi,

TL;DR - I posted a task on Airtasker, I assigned it to tasker, Airtasker "secured" amount specified + fees by charging my credit card, tasker couldn't attend the task on agreed day/time due to his vehicle breakdown, I cancelled task as it needed to be done by certain date - my funds haven't still released.

I then read following "Make Paymemts" section in my Airtasker account -

"The Task Credit balance from Airtasker Cards will be automatically applied when you accept an offer on a task. Each card will expire 12 months from the date of registration. Any unused amount after expiry day will not be refunded or credited."

Now I am not sure whether I will get refund or it will sit in my account for to be used in future (within 12 months). Has anyone cancelled task and what is the process?

    If you cancel a task you get airtasker credit.
    You have to contact them to get it refunded back to your card but in my experience it's always been a painless process.

  • takes about a week after you ask though so keep that in mind if you need the money quickly
