When I tried to pricematch something over the phone they told me it was their store policy that I had to printout the page even though it was easily accessed online.
Last time I PMed I did not need to do this, was this a recently changed policy or are they just BSing me?
OW: need a printout even though advertised online?

Yeah, i always bring out a printout of the product i'm pricematching
but they never double check though
I think it depends on the actual sales person. I've brought in printouts before and had them ignore them, and "check online" in case the online store sold out from the time I printed the advert/cart screen and the time I brought it in.
I'm assuming you were just talking about whether they would pricematch over the phone and then going in store to purchase?
The last time i showed on screen he still jumped online printed it out and signed it for good measure, so that the checkout chick/dood would be able to process it without too much fuss. After all, they're just checkout chick/doods lol.
hmm which is easier to fake website or printout……
I can only speak for the one in Fitzroy and they've always needed a printout. I tried hopping on their computer once and showing them the MSY pricelist but they said they needed a printout. Unfortunately, there are no printers attached to the computers there.
Tightarses. My local store hops onto one of their registers to check the competitor's website (usually JB HiFi, Dick Smith etc) but that generally suffices.
Yeah, that's what I thought. Thanks for the comments. For a moment I thought I was being jibbed there.
The last time the guy was nice enough to check the site themselves but this time I had to bring a printout there.
Well the item is bought(powerboard) so it's all good now. :)I once showed the price on my ipod touch, they then jumped online and checked the website.
They're always checked whatever printout or catalogue I've brought in.
I have price matched several times by showing them the price on my iPhone. Sometimes they will jump on a computer to double check.
