Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem? In the past 2 weeks, 2 out of 3 times, I placed the order and paid on the app by Amex and when I got to the drive thru window, I was told the transaction had not been paid. I then had to show them the Samsung Pay app notification showing the transaction.

It's only been happening to me recently. Never had that problem before.
They don't normally charge you until you've quoted the order number at the first window. Then you skip the payment window completely and go to the collection window. I wouldn't have thought the guys at the collection window will be checking if you've paid or not as they've been getting the food ready since the time the order came through (on quoting the number).
At my Maccas, once I've quoted the order number at the speaker and told to drive through, my payment would go through just before I reach the first window.
Complain to Maccas via Maccas App.
Just a headsup that the cops have been busting people (In W.A.?) for using payment apps at Maccas drive-thrus.
They might as well since they're always there . Don't cops get free/discounted burgers at maccas?
And so we're supposed to either memorise our order number before leaving the house, or at the speaker, switch off the engine, read out the order number on the phone and check in, start engine and drive to the next window? Needs a law change!
And how am I supposed to use Samsung Pay if I don't use the app? Switch off the engine again at the payment window?
Basically that was what the smart-arsed cop said when asked. You have to put the car in Park, turn off the engine, pay for your meal, restart the engine then drive off. Presumably eating food while driving is OK?
Did you report this to maccas? Curious to know what their stance on this is.
Anyone who gets caught using their phone while in a drive-thru in New South Wales can be fined five demerit points and ordered to pay a $377 fine.
'During double demerit periods, drivers who break the rules will be penalised 10 demerit points,' the website states.Elsewhere across the country, motorists risk being hit with similar fines.
Queensland motorists can be fined $391 and have 3 demerit points recorded against their traffic history if they're caught holding a phone for any reason while driving.'Double demerit points apply for second or subsequent mobile phone offences committed within 1 year after an earlier offence,' the Queensland Goverment website states.
Western Australia motorists who get busted using their mobile phone face a $400 fine and risk losing three demerit points.
While Victorian and Western Australian motorists risk being penalised the most, with fines in each state costing $484 and $447 respectively - in addition to losing four demerit points.
The Northern Territory and Tasmania have the cheapest fines, with drivers being hit with $250 and $300 fines respectively - as well as losing three demerit points.
Those are some expensive burgers.
So they don't like someone being on their phone in a carpark, yet when a car accident happens in a carpark, they don't get involved.
Go figure
This happens all the time for me.. i usually avoid the app at the drive thru.
