Personal best is rank 12 :)

Wow, a physical version of Tetris 99.

  • +2

I wonder if you receive a physical cartridge, or is it just a download code (like Fortnite) Physical Cartridge Based on this US Unboxing Video

PS: It also cheaper to join a Nintendo Switch Online Shared Family Membership ($54.95 per year = ~$6.87 Per Person).

    • +11

Cheaper if you have someone to share it with

      • +19

I have no friends. And my family have abandoned me because of my OzBargaining ways…

        • We are your family now, bluechan.

        • +1

One of us, one of us …

      • Can't do Ozbargain group share?

        • I've seen people gathering up their own little ozbargain families in the forums

          • +1

@OkayFray: A single tear just rolled down my cheek. I've never felt such patriotism. Aussies banding together when it really matters, bargains!

    • If I have kids with own accounts on the switch, does that mean each person needs a separate Nintendo Switch Online membership? So basically most people are going to need the Family Membership ?

      • If they have their own accounts, they would each require a separate Switch Online Membership (hence the family plan).

Each Family Membership gives you access to 'up to 8 accounts'

  • How do you preorder in Target? The pricing which usually has the buy/add to cart is greyed out. I hope Amazon matches.

    • Removed Pre-Order.

      • +1

Oh thanks mod. Got me excited that I could lock in the price.

  • DLC is $15, so let's just say you are really paying $15 for membership (good if you can't be bothered coordinating with a family membership in which case it's like $7pp)

  • I really wish nintendo would allow people on family plans to redeem these codes and get say 1/3 or 1/2 the period based on some redemption rate. Missed out on the Amazon Prime 12 months as my accounts on a family plan and this, Mario Maker 2 Special Edition and soon Overwatch are all throwing in online game time for individual accounts.

MS when converting to Game Pass Ultimate will take other subscriptions and convert at a set rate. Would love to see Nintendo do the same especially if they keep using Online subs as bonuses for game sales.

    • +1

The game is free on the Eshop thanks to your family pass, why would you need to buy this?

Since you are using a family pass, I assume you probably pay $7 a year, the dlc + $7 only comes to like $22 so you still come out in front.

      • Because I could use the credit towards the renewal and get a physician copy of the game, which is something I like to have. Presumably Nintendo is catering to those that want physical copies by releasing this at all.

Also like I mentioned other games are including Nintendo Online time. I want to get Overwatch for example and that has a code I won’t be able to redeem. Likewise I have Amazon prime and can’t redeem the 12 months available through that.

I’m paying the full family price and paying for my son who is 10 to have his account, so not getting close to $7 sub.

        • Does the physician version of Tetris 99 come with a scalpel?

    • +3

It come out this past week that Nintendo are doing just that soon… Upgrading to Family while transferring what you have.

      No idea why the negatives…

      • I saw that but the site I saw wasn’t clear how it’d work. They said one could upgrade an existing solo account to a family plan at a reduced rate. Didn’t see whether I could apply codes for solo Nintendo Online subs to an existing family plan to get an extension to the plan of some reduced period. With any luck that’s what they are doing.

  • Any idea if the code has an expiry?

  • Anyone know if other stores like jbs or eb would stock these?

    • Yes they will.

  • I also am a fan of Tetris 99 but don’t see the point in buying this…

    • +5

I believe it includes the Big Block DLC, which has a standard price of $15 on the eShop

      • +1

        Are the blocks bigger?

  • I wonder what ebgames would offer as a trade in price of I buy from target and redeem the online pass?

  • +2

Clever deal for Lite release day. Get you your Nintendo membership and a game for a little ancillary price. Also, everyone loves Tetris, so this is a banger. I'm in.

Target better damn well have stock though.

  • +4

I'm going to grab this just to have a physical copy of it. I purchased a Switch, Pokemon, Smash Bros. and Breath of the Wild and yet, I'm playing the 'free' Tetris game more than anything else…

Anyone know if the 12 months subscription will stack?

    • Yeah they definitely stack. I added the free Twitch Prime offer to my existing account.

      • While I'm aware that they stack, I find using Nintendo's UI to be unintuitive. Do you know of a way to plaining see how many subscriptions you have remaining and what day it will expire? I should have 12 months from when I bought Mario Maker 2, and 12 from twitch prime, but I've never been able to verify this.

On topic: I wouldn't mind grabbing this if it means I get 12 more months while essentially getting the Tetris DLC for nothing.

I got my first win the other day FINALLY and unlocked that Invictus mode thing.

You know how like the real game only starts when you hit the 20s? Well, Invictus starts there basically. Now when I play normal mode I'm doing trash if I am outside the top 15.

    • Played for 15 hours, still haven't won. 2s and 3s heaps :(

      • Just got to find a match with 98 people that aren't as good as you :)

        • lol, still trying to find

  • Is the DLC on the cart or a code?

  • +1

Is the online membership redeemed with a code? If yes, do the codes have an expiry date?

  • Is there a physical game inside or is it just a code?

  • My wife played this game to death until she was getting rank 1 every other game then she stopped playing completely. If I want something done, I just make it a competition between us and viola!

    • +4

      Who is Viola?

      • +1

No I mean I have to buy her flowers to apologise. Usually from the Viola genus of flower of which there are approximately 600 species. Lol.

      • It's a string instrument

        • I think the preferred pronoun is "they"…

  • I wonder if the DLC is a code?

    • It's not. The cartridge is always required for play.

  • Must have been a misprint. Deal is gone from the Target website.

  • Looks as though this might be an error as it's no longer on their site. Saved me a trip to Target tomorrow!

  • Is this on sale or not? Can anyone help?

    • We will find out tomorrow when it is released.

  • +1

Yeah it's still not back on the Target website, did anyone manage to get a screenshot before the page got pulled down?

  • still not reappearing on targets website, very interesting

  • +1

Looks like deal is dead in the water

  • +6

My local target said that no stores have recieved any stock :/

  • +2

Yep same, my local Target said they didn't receive any stock hence why it was removed from the website. EB Games won't match it until they do

  • -1

Nice upvotes then for a dead deal :)

  • +10

I asked Target on facebook, this is their reply:

    Hi there

Thanks for reaching out to us.

We've had a look into this for you and it appears that we are currently waiting on the stock to arrive.

We are expecting the item to arrive in approximately two weeks.

You will then start to see the item on shelves in stores, and online, so we suggest keeping an eye out. 😊

If there is anything further we can assist with please don't hesitate to let us know.

    Kind Regards,
    Amber @ Target

  • JB Hi Fi just price matched.

    Camberwell VIC

    Plenty of stock.

    Can upload receipt if needed

    • +1

What did you use to price match? The screenshot posted above?

      • +1

Yeah I used the screenshot and asked if it was ok. I mentioned they didn’t have stock

    • Can you please, I called 6 stores and they wouldn't budge.

      • Which 6 stores did you call?

    • @saitken please upload the receipt. Thanks

  • +1

Just matched @ JB didn't need to show anything it was already in the 'system'

  • Can someone please load a receipt of purchase from JB HI FI?

  • +1

Local JB price matched for $33, but wouldn't do $30 as they knew Target doesn't have any stock, still better than $39/$44 ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Receipt: https://imgur.com/a/ohHusPU

  • How many do they normally price match ?

    Can you get multiples ?

  • Price matched at ebgames for $30.65, even though I showed the $33 JBhifi receipt, the staff was kind enough to price match the original target deal.

  • Thought I would try my luck with above Screen caps. and receipt from JB. No luck, EB need the online price to match and JB has it at $44. Have yet to try JB yet with screen cap. of Target. I'm not holding my breath… my nintendo online membership expires this Friday :s

  • The page is back up at Target but showing as sold out.

    • Probably means they're getting stock in soon.

  • +1

I guess this was a price error.
I clicked on the link (which said it was sold out).
But then I looked at the 'Recently Viewed' part of the page and it said it was $44.
So most likely if they actually got it in stock, it would be $44.
