I have a pretty much identical bag (only thing missing is the "huwai" text stitched to it), I bought 3 of them for day walking trips with the family. The build quality is very poor, stitching has come undone, zips have broken and the plastic clips and buckles are very weak.

    Avoid it.

Hiking backpack is such a personal thing. You better make sure it fits perfectly and is of solid quality especially you are doing 15-20+ kilo load on them. Would not be fun at all if it breaks or gives you sore shoulders or necks in day 1.

I totally agree. The ones we have are definitely designed for a smaller framed person. My 12 year old daughter is the only one who really fits the bags I bought.

      • These would be fine for kids going with adults - the kids only carry their own light weight stuff while we lug the camp gear.

    • 100% Agree, this is not a professional hiking backpack. Can not be compared with Osprey, Deuter,Gregory etc.

  • I would not write off cheap Chinese products on every occasion. My kid signed up for Duke of Ed and not knowing whether my kid will really go through with it I bought a 60L $60 backpack from a listing on Gumtree. The seller don't have a shop front but kept his stock at Kennards storage. The backpack seems to be sturdy enough. My kid has done Silver and going for Gold. Backpack is still going strong and all stitches/straps/buckles intact except a zipper tab fell off but easily fixed. Good thing about my backpack is contents remained dry during wet weather. The lid/cover is cleverly done in such a way no rain can get in.
