    The Samsung RU8000 has 200hz refresh rate and edge lit panel. The UM7600 has a 100hz backlit panel. The equivalent 200hz LG would be the 65SM8600PTA which was recently on sale for $1780 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/472640

    I would also be interested in how it compares too since I'm in the market for a gaming TV.

    I think the main difference is the R8 is Quantum dot so has better colour.

  SUPER close to biting on this, been keeping an eye out for the last few months now on an upgrade for my games/movie room… I have a Sony Bravia from 2008 in there. Still runs well but very much indeed of an update considering.

  Is this TV more-or-less the best TV I'm going to get for less than $1200?

    Id like to see a comparison between this and hisense R8. Roughly same price, not sure how they stack up other than qdot om the hisense for 'better colour'

      R8 reviews are very good, but looks like the cheapest it's been is $1.5k and I can currently only find it for $2k. Being able to pull the trigger on $1.35k right now is awfully tempting…!
