  • Interesting. I wonder if this is a way to get a $200 discount on one of their high end watches (e.g. Fenix 6), and then cancel the policy once the discount has been applied.

    • +1

You can get 20% off a garmin watch with a Bupa membership. I have ambulance only which is $40 a year.

    • +1

If you have REST super you can also get 25% off garmin products, just download their APP and link it to AIA Vitality (added benefit also is if you get "500 points" - which you get from walking 7500 steps and 12,500 steps on 3 days of the week - you get a $5 woolies voucher each week)

  • To qualify for priority protection you might need to pass the medical and financial underwriting. The medical test sometimes include blood work as well. Do you really want to go through all that for the sack of 200?

  • Please note that the following applies to this offer: "If either policy is cancelled
within 60 days of being issued, and the Garmin voucher code has already been used, AIA or myOwn will clawback up to
the value of $200 from the policy owner or life insured, as applicable."

There are no mandatory medicals required if you are under 45 and applying for less than $2.5M of Life and TPD - just an application form to complete. However, as with any application, if you have a medical condition or a high BMI the insurer may request more information or blood tests/medical exam to assess this.

    • Not bad. Pay two months premium get $200 gift card then cancel.
      Probably still be up $150.

  • Probably should have also highlighted that this deal comes with AIA Vitality, the benefits of which have been spoken about elsewhere on this forum and include: up to 50% discount on gym memberships with Anytime Fitness, Fitness First and Virgin Active, discounted Hoyts movie tickets, up to 50% off Virgin domestic and international flights and shopping voucher rewards from Myer, Woolworths, Dymocks, Ticketmaster and Rebel. Points can be accumulated by having health checks, online assessments and measuring your physical activity and the greater your participation the greater the rewards - for your health as well.

The minimum annual premium for an AIA Priority Protection policy which includes Vitality is around $420 i.e $300 minimum premium plus the $120 Vitality fee. However if myOwn health insurance is also taken out the $120 Vitality fee gets waived.
