Has Anyone Gotten Shoes from a Podiatrist?

I got extra benefits from my private health insurance for podiatry and was wondering if it was possible to get a pair of comfortable shoes for walking or running from a Podiatrist? Has anyone been able to use their extra benefits to order shoes from one?

    Check your PDS. From personal experience the shoes they sell are pretty fugly.

    When I went to a podiatrist all I got was an order for inserts…

    I just buy good runners from elsewhere and my podiatrist makes custom inserts for them.

    By far the comfiest shoes I've had are my Brooks Transcend 6. So light to walk with.
