while we are at it, sorry to jump in OP, but can someone recommend good Japanese and Chinese (dumplings) places in Perth too

  Authentic Bites Dumpling House and Peoples Inn Dumpling House are good.

  I lived on Authentic Bites 'prawns and pork wanton soup' when I was working nearby. Bambamboo does let Good dumplings as well and recently they have done offers where 1 dumpling on on the menu would be half price. Juicy Bao Bao in northbridge has the pan fried soup dumplings. There a dumpling place in east Perth I've walked by that looks popular and has good reviews (can't remember the name but it's next to Tea Woks if you want to look at Google)
  
  Ramen at Melbourne Hotel, ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King (I think), great tonkotsu, or Nao Ramen.

  Homie if you like ramen check out Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King next to the melbourne, it's amazing!
  
  Imperial court and 8 on the bay both have decent dumplings.
