I would put these sunscreens at the absolute bottom of the list of ones to buy.
I am a fan of the Cancer Council SPF 50+ product, followed by the Nivea SPF 50+
Evidence?
CHOICE tests:
https://www.smh.com.au/business/companies/choice-reveals-the…Canstar (just 'satisfaction' not testing but still at the bottom):
https://www.canstarblue.com.au/health-beauty/sunscreen/Being sued for failing to meet standards:
https://www.oversixty.com.au/news/news/banana-boat-disgrace-…Ahh crap. Just after I bought some with the extra cash back the other day…I think CW are good with returns though.
Would probably trust for me but for my 5 month old….not so much.
rated very low for real protection - buyer beware. cancer council if you value your health
Rated by whom?
https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/89400/banana-boat-sp… looks great value, 1 litre for $12.50.
19 of 23 reviews on product review are 1 star:
https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/banana-boat-sport-…Yes for every one person who complains there might be 1000 who don't get on and leave positive comment but still not a good look. Failures are not something you want from your sunscreen (its not a non-critical appliance like a vacuum).
Well who’s reviews do you trust. Here’s another one with 590 odd reviews giving the brand 4.5 star average rating
https://www.influenster.com/reviews/banana-boat-ultra-protec…
I am going “bananas” on review systems.
Those 586 reviews give it an average of 4.3 stars, which when you look at the ratings of the other products is quite "low".
The first page of sunscreens on that site has the lowest rating at 4.4:
https://www.influenster.com/reviews/body-sunscreenIt is all relative I suppose. Every product on that website is really highly rated…
ahh found it - it is a "free product for review" website:
"But the best part about Influenster is that you have a chance to get free products to test out yourself. All you have to do is to leave an honest review about the products sent to you and they’re yours for free.
The company sends out a box full of products monthly to some of its members. The choice is based on your profile, but the more active you are the higher the chance of being picked."
lol - "honest review" of stuff we send you for free. Sure.
Come mister tally man tally me banana…
