  The secret to the best deep-fried Mars Bar:

  • Freeze your Mars Bar so that the centre stays hard.
  • Mix enough plain flour, water and small pinch of salt to make a batter just thick enough to dip a Mars Bar into and get a thin coating of batter.
  • Heat your deep fryer oil to 180°C and drop your Mars Bar in. As soon as the coating is golden and the bar rises to the top take it out and serve it. The chocolate will be melty inside the crisp batter, but the centre will still be hard.
