Best Way to Select Own Number - Lebara Prepaid $2 Sim Then Port out?

Looking to get a new mobile number for my wife who is emigrating later this year. I’d like to be able to choose her number instead of just being assigned one randomly. I was looking through the stand at a supermarket and noticed the Lebara prepaid $2 sims have the mobile number printed on the back.

Would this be a viable way to choose a more desirable number? Buy a $2 Lebara sim, then port that number to, for example, Boost or Telstra prepaid?

Thanks!

An alternative would be to buy a $10 amaysim sim - once you click "Buy Now" select "Get a New Number" then "Pick a Different One" - enter the first 5 digits you want.
Some numbers are 'premium' which cost ~$30.
Once your prepaid duration ends just port to your desired carrier.

Thank you so much!! I used their tool and managed to get her a number almost identical to mine!

If I could give you Gold I would.

Glad that I helped, just giving back to a community I love by helping out others more

        Enjoy :-)

  • I tried $2 Lebara yesterday and when I tried to port in they asked to buy a plan, minimum $5 recharge for a PAYG. So minimum spend will be $7 not $2. FYI
