Looking to get a new mobile number for my wife who is emigrating later this year. I’d like to be able to choose her number instead of just being assigned one randomly. I was looking through the stand at a supermarket and noticed the Lebara prepaid $2 sims have the mobile number printed on the back.
Would this be a viable way to choose a more desirable number? Buy a $2 Lebara sim, then port that number to, for example, Boost or Telstra prepaid?
Thanks!
An alternative would be to buy a $10 amaysim sim - once you click "Buy Now" select "Get a New Number" then "Pick a Different One" - enter the first 5 digits you want.
Some numbers are 'premium' which cost ~$30.
Once your prepaid duration ends just port to your desired carrier.
