Spreets Ripoff.

So. I finally got my tickets from THREE WEEKS AGO, and lo! and behold! The tickets have incredibly restrictive T&Cs - not valid for IMAX 3D, not valid for new releases, not valid for screenings… this despite their assurances that they would be valid everywhere, in particular for IMAX 3D films.

It took them almost a month to send almost useless tickets.

Spreets - TO BE AVOIDED.

I am not surprised at all. I hate to say it but while people like you (and me) are stupid enough to buy their deals then they are just going to keep doing what they are doing. As another member commented in a previous thread they are not relying on return business and they are relying on new (gullible) customers. All you can do is spread they word and don't purchase from them again.

what does the advertising on the spreets site say? if it is misleading then ask for a refund

  • So did original advert say anything about the t&cs on the ticket? Wouldn't be surprised if it had anything to do with the delayed printing.

    http://spreets.com.au/deal/Sydney/other/5396/8-movie-tickets…

which part of the term and condition that you don't understand?

    The Fine Print:

Max 20 vouchers per person; can buy multiples as gifts
Bookings are essential and subject to availability
Bookings to be made through the Spreets sites and all fields MUST be filled in correctly to get tickets
Not available with any other offer
    Not redeemable for cash
IMAX tickets valid 7 days after premiere of feature films release date
Some cinemas may levy a surcharge for 3D sessions
The use of the Australian Movie Voucher is subject to our standard terms & conditions
    Voucher valid for 3 months from 14/6/11 - 14/9/11
Lost or expired vouchers cannot be replaced

    • Great job posting the T&Cs. Certainly pays to comprehend the T&Cs before making any purchases to avoid unwarranted disappointment.

if you speeding then you got ticket by the police, can you argue to the police that you didn't read the booklet from rta about road and safety regulation about speeding? you can argue if police/rta speed camera malfunction, but you can not argue that you didn't read the rule.

my point today is before you make any complaint on this forum, first thing you need to ask your self "have I read the term and condition, have I met the term and condition?".
If all yes and you don't get what that stated in the term and condition, first thing you need to do is lodge your complain to the company, if you don't get the response then you post in here to share with us.

  • I booked 2x transformers tickets (3D) in iMax darling harbour (booked with spreets vouchers), no problem.

we get these Australia Movie Vouchers via work social club (same ones spreets sent out) and I have never had a problem going to iMax 3D with them

Dendy charged me around $2 surcharge for 3D though
