I came to look at the comments to see if anyone else was thinking the same thing as me. I wasn't disappointed.

Probably good for people with a caravan?

      • It would be but I’m curious how slow it charges… the standard charger for my v8 uses 450-500W ballpark power input, most cars won’t get many amps out of the 12V socket either…

          That seems unlikely.

Based on the pic of the charger (no specs listed)
It would be 50W at most.

Generic charger on Amazon claims 26.1V, 0.78A

          • @coxymla: So it would take like ~10 hrs to charge… long road trip.

@ATangk: You could power it with your caravan's solar array? In any case, I doubt you'd empty the battery vacuuming a caravan, so you wouldn't be charging it from zero often. :)

        • This is a charger not power adapter. If you have 4AamH battery on dyson, it will take about 3-4hours to charge from 12v as this is 1.5 amp out.

          • @userid007: you have one and it says 12V 1.5A out or 27~ volt 1.5A out? The dysons dont use 12V, so there will be power loss converting from 12V to 27V

    • Technically being on ozbargain, charging while you drive could save you electricity at home.

    Might be good for camping?

      Who vacuums while camping?

      • LOL!

      • +2

I've vacummed my 8-man tent at the end just before packing up. It was nice to get rid of all the sand and grass before storing the tent.

      • I think hybridx means Glamping, not clamping.

Better u purchase a second battery and swap it around when the battery is out of juice. I used velcro strap to hold the battery to the unit instead of the provided screws.

    • Where would you recommend purchasing a 2nd genuine battery from?

      • +1

Which model? The DC59/V6 battery can be purchased directly from Dyson.

        • Well there you go, I didnt realise they sold them

Good for camping and caravan boats etc

wife has to sit in the backseat as the dyson is in the passengers seat charging. take a tight left corner and its flying over to the drivers side.

One sold on eBay yesterday $98 wow crazy

  • shipping kills the deal

      Pity no more Shipster :(

  • When camping and going on 4WD trips it's pretty good.

This cannot Fit all models- I have the DC 34 and the V6 and they have different connectors.

  • We had one for our caravan when travelling around Australia - totally worth it! don't have an inverter, so the 12v charger helped!

FYI - This doesn't suit all models. There's two different versions of this.
