Are There Classified Sites Similar to Gumtree for EU Countries (UK Excluded)?

I'm moving to EU next year, would be great if I could get cheap/free stuff to get started.

Cheers.

Shpock is pretty good in EU/UK for local stuff.

  • Hm, at the risk of sounding mean but if you cannot afford to buy even IKEA stuff, how and why can you move to the EU?
Surely you should be able to support yourself and have enough money for accommodation, furniture, clothes, food, and health.

    • i dont need much since i happen to be a brown immigrant who wants to conquer the blue continent, burden their welfare system and steal their jobs and women. i also happen to be an ozbargainer, thank you very much.

      • While I know you are exaggerating and attempting to joke here I am not sure if there is not a grain of truth in it. I always find it strange that many people (including many on here) get really touchy when it comes to immigrants to Australia and state they should have a job, accommodation etc. lined up but yet find it acceptable to go to the EU or the US on the cheap or free without realising they are taking away much needed resources from the local poor population who actually are really dependent on stuff like that.

Being thrifty and being an Ozbargainer is great but taking away resources from poor or needy locals is just not right (anywhere) for anybody.

I am not saying that is what you intend but the first thing coming to my mind when reading your post was the recent trend of backpackers travelling and then begging in their destinations for more money or freebies for their travels, so called begpacking.

        • well it was you who were being touchy about the subject mate (and judgy). i was just having fun here. arent you an jimmy grant yourself in australia? i am well aware of the begpackers, they only dare to pull that of in 3rd world countries where white-worshipping are so rampant that they could get away with almost anything.

          • @hal9000: I suppose I am a bit sensitive about it since one of the charities I volunteer (or should I say volunteered) for (and founded) had to close due to a post on Ozbargain about free food in mosques (and consequently, other charities etc. were mentioned in the thread) and Ozbargainers (or in this case freeloaders) in search of a bargain/freebie/to save money found it okay to come and take away the few resources and donations for the homeless and poor. I hope you understand that since then for me the term "Ozbargainer" is severely negatively associated.
Hence to me taking things for free if you actually could afford to buy those things, is a bit like begpacking, especially if it takes away resources from those that really need them.
Or in other words, if anyone moves to a different country, they should be able to afford this and not try to score freebies or arrange for freebies or look for freebies because if one needs that one should not move from one's own country in the first place in my opinion.
Anyway, good luck in your search.

            • @Lysander: thank you for your kind words. sadly, its not up to you of how people should conduct to go about freebies. its not a crime or against law to score freebies.

              • @hal9000: True but from now on I will put provisos on mine - minimum length of residency for example - as at least I can control those.

Not a crime but very morally and ethically wrong and reprehensible.
