Recalls.gov.au: McCain Family Pizza Cheese and Bacon with added metal recalled

Everyone should subscribe to the recalls site. There have been a couple of things that have appeared on OzBargain and later down the road on the recalls site.

I know there are a lot of pizza lovers here, so be aware that they recalled this.

This deal should have been advertised on OzBargain as a McCain Family Pizza with Cheese, Bacon and Metal.

An extra topping - sounds a lot more appealing!

Thanks for the site - good link to know about.

  • I went into Woolworths the other week, there are so many recalled products!

I wonder what happens to all the people who don't see the recall and eat it anyway…

If anything, the metal will coat your teeth and make it stronger.

You'll be the next Jaws from the James Bond movies!

I think it's scarier that it's usually the big name brands with the highest production lines that we see the recalls from. I suspect (as a guess) these companies voluntarily recall their products rather than customers discovering shards of metal. Makes you wonder about the smaller companies. It's also scary to think about the food coming from overseas which may have less standards in their production line.

With all the generic products being made in China, while I would trust Woolworths itself to tell customers about shards of metal, I'm really doubting if a strict manufacturing boss in China would tell Woolworths as I imagine a mass recall would get them in trouble and the people in China would lose money.

I purchased generic Peanut Butter recently thinking it was still made in Australia, they had changed to China, and for some reason it just put me off a lot…. Who knows where the peanuts came from.

Agreed - I also try to buy Australian made when possible. Your health is worth more than saving a few $.

          "Australian Made"
The product is substantially transformed in Australia and at least 50 per cent of the cost of production has been incurred in Australia.

          It's a bit of a joke really.

Made in Australia from Local and imported materials. Things can be purchased in bulk and then packed in smaller containers with the made in Australia stamp.
The whole process is still having too much loop holes.

  • didnt know there was a site, great to know thanks!

  • +1 to the everyone should subscribe! Like finance, I didn't even know this site existed!

surprised there are no "contains more iron" jokes

  • May contain traces of metal.

Just the thing I need to supplement my lack of iron.

    • How do you know it's iron? :) (Cesium, strontium, uranium, etc, maybe?)

      • lol

      • JB, you've done it again. They do sell metal products though.

  • Thanks Neil for the suggestion. I have been to this site, but, never thought of subscribing, like I have done for Stay smart online .
