Its small, fits into your pocket or purse so easy to carry, and doesnt mix the smell of fragrance with your dump to make a weird nastier smell.
I'm gonna stick with the "who cares, going to the toilet is one of the most natural things ever" argument. If you care so much about whether someone knows you've taken a shit in public then you have bigger issues, namely self image.
My wife uses it at home as a courtesy to me. Not everyone is as grumpy as you mate.
@Ryanek: Olfactory fatigue sets in after ~15-30 seconds. If someone can't handle a bad smell for that short period then that's a problem for them.
