    • Looks like the only difference is that it has an extra 2 bits. I probably should have posted that one!

  • Looks like the wowstick 1f+ is on a pretty good special too ($44.94)

    here

Seems to be cheapest in ozbargain history.

    • Add 10% for GST ;) You probably should share it as a deal!

      • True that! Still pretty decent though. I reckon you should just combine it to your original post if you think it's worth it :)

  • Does this work with the bits from whia set?

Can I use it with XIAOMI wiha screwdrivers?

    • It is compatible with the same drill bits, yes.

    Most useless screwdriver ever

    • not for me!

I have to agree with this. Maybe I got a fake, but mine's a piece of shit.
It requires Eneloop batteries, and it's very weak. Can barely screw in motherboard screw, let alone the power supply.

I've bought one of these and they're ace, but my wife was very disappointed when I told her I had bought a Wowstick and this is what arrived.

Should’ve done the free course for Managing Expectations over at udemy first…

    • You might need to get creative and make some custom bits for her.

A handy screwdriver for occasional use. Alkaline AAA batteries do not last long in this device though, and nimh rechargeable cells do not offer enough voltage.

    • so batteries are replaceable?

      • They just use regular aaa's

        • will eneloops give enough voltage and how long would it last in this device?

          • @pinkybrain: Eneloops are Nimh so based on the statement 'Nimh doesn't offer enough voltage' you'd go with 'no'.

It would presumably last forever or until the discharge completes as you won't be actually using the batteries if they aren't able to push the voltage needed :)

They are too weak and slow to be of any use. Mine just sitting there for a while untouch and unlove

    • I experienced the same thing. Next time I find mine, I'm throwing it in the bin. Such a waste of money and space.

      • -1

        Waste of earth's resources too.

I really can't imagine the use case for this product: unless a person's capacities are limited (by a disease or old age for example), or it's one's job to fix phones or similar electronics all day, why would a person want to use an electric screwdriver for such tiny screws?

        • Can come in handy if you are taking apart laptops, some of them have like 20 screws on the base

  • Try bring this on a plane, wonder what'll happen

    • +5

      You’d be screwed.

    • You're not allowed any type of screwdriver in carry on.

This literally lasted about an hour before completely draining my batteries when I bought this on a previous deal - went through 2 or 3 changes of battery before I packed it in.

Anyone else have the same problem or do I've a dodgy batch of batteries or something?

    • can we use eneloops in these?

did you use normal alkaline batteries?

      • I think I used standard batteries, yeah.
Eneloops might be the best bet but if the battery life is literally minutes, then I'm not sure it's worth it.

Just watched this review and the TLDR is that he thinks it may really only be useful for people with "dexterity problems" - he compared using the wowstick to simply manually undoing the same screw and found it that the wow stick wasn't actually quicker.

Looks like it locks in place when off, which is handy for cracking screws. Seems to have enough torque, but would be nice if it had even 30% more speed.

    On the fence….

Don't buy this one guys. It's absolutely useless, it can barely turn the screws on a motherboard and it uses oldschool AA batteries.

    • that is actually promising, I thought it uses AAA batteries, witch would be way too weak.
Are you sure its AA batteries?
