Help with Xiaomi Kettle - Setting Temperature

TLSR : How do you set the Xiaomi kettle to 40deg without boiling the water first.

Hello, i have searched Google and YouTube videos but couldn't seem to find anything that could directly help, the manual is abysmal.

I bought a Xiaomi digital kettle so that I could have 40deg water on hand to make bottles for my newborn. I got it yesterday and have tried all the combinations but could not get it to go from cool -> 40 deg without boiling (I've already put sterilised water in it)

The 40deg is selected, I've done the "cool down" and "warm up" in the app, then pressed the keep warm? Button on the kettle, nothing happened and the water went below 40. Pressing the other button just made the water boil.

Is there a way to just bring the temp up to 40 or does it only manage temperature after it boils.

Water is heated to a set index
By clicking "keep temperature" button, kettle heats the water to the set index and will keep set temperature of water (recommended to use purified water).

Would appear that it's done in the app, and that it can do what you want it to do.

    Sorry, don't own one however

    • Yeah that's the manual it came with. After I set it and press boil/keep warm on the kettle it boils normally/ does nothing. Tried the different combinations in the app and same result. Hope I didn't get a defective kettle 😭

  • Didn't read too much, I'm under medicated not being rude.

Make sure you select the 'boil to' option instead of 'boil over' in the app. After I did that, and set the temperature, it worked flawlessly.
Also make sure you're pressing the button closest to the handle, not the inside button.

    Otherwise, perhaps a faulty item.

Now what I really need is a way to remotely turn it on

      The app can't do that?

      • Nope. Some claim it's a safety feature so you don't turn it on without water.
Honestly it makes the whole thing pretty damn pointless.
