Is this the same with the one Costco is selling:
    https://www.costco.com.au/medias/sys_master/h4c/hed/14947229…

Which is Smart 5 5000 electric toothbrush dual handle for $129.99

    • +1

No. The Costco one is the 'Smart' 5000 and the Groupon is 'Pro' 5000.

Not sure of the actual differences though.

      • i'm also interested in knowing the difference… i gotten the costco one.

        • i reckon oral b has just rebranded from pro 5000 to smart 5000 and groupon is clearing out the old pro packaging

edit looks like older pro has the extra clock/timer thing and may have an easier to replace battery (see willx's post below -looks like pro has nimh battery and smart 5000 has lithium)

          • @BenK-Oz: phew … guess i'll be sticking to the costco one then

    • This looks like the costco one

Not sure on the differences aside from 1 less brush head and no timer.

    smart > pro

  • The main difference I can find is that this Pro 5000 uses Nickle battery (according to this Youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoLD6v-C4_w), which many OZB fellows complained that the brush power will become weaker when it's going to run out of battery versus the Lithium battery on the Smart 5000, whose brush power maintains the same strength all the time.

This Pro pack comes with the little LED Smart Guide (clock/timer) and the 3-bar battery indicator on its body (the Smart seems to have a simpler 1-bar battery indicator).

Also, the Pro appears to be the old model as it even cannot be found on Oral-B AU offical website.

Already added it to the cart and was going to pay for it, but hesitated now after I saw the mention of Nickle battery.

    • I'm replacing an old supermarket one, assuming it's the Nickle battery you mention. It does exactly that, slows down when it's low, it's only done this for the last 3 weeks. The battery is stuffed in it now and wont hold charge. I had it for almost 7 years and it was $30, if this lasts as long I still think it's a good buy.

  • Great deal thanks

  • Is it worth upgrading from the $20 basic one?

      Huge difference

Better motor, pressure sensor, potentially better battery… absolutely worth it.
