I was searching a MB for my new gaming computer over the weekend and noticed that Gigabyte is running a promotion on the B450 Aorus MB ($45 coles gift card) for select Aorus b450 MB. Combining this with ebay 15% (ie. Computer Alliance) you can get a B450 MB for less than $100.

Dont forget the usual shopback.

Product page doesn't exist, no price anywhere, product name is barely mentioned, store isn't mentioned. There are so many things wrong with this post.

(80 codes limited) … so this is limited to the first 80 that submit their claim, hmm. 🤨

    • And theres already 150 clicks on the link, not liking my chances…

      What a shitty promo.

    • Yeah… I'd jump on it if it wasn't for this, knowing my luck I'd buy a board I don't really want in the first place only to get declined on the offer.

  • I'm using a Gigabyte B450, and while it has some good features (WiFi, BT, backup BIOS) I can't really recommend as VRM temps can get quite warm with my 2700x on standard clocks.

However, it does have a lot of features and might be OK for Ryzen <2700 or newer (lower TDP) Ryzen CPUs as long as the boards are flashed to support 3000 series.

    • can you comment on the wifi performance? eg. 100 Mbps?

The board I'm using now is the Aurus Pro WIFI. Showing as Intel Dual Band Wireless 802.11n adaptor at speed 150 Mbps. I'm 2 rooms away from the router. Haven't compared it to gigabit ethernet into same router, but I've not needed to as the onboard Wifi is fast and seamless; can't fault it or the bluetooth. No driver issues with the board whatsoever.

I'm pretty content with the board, and the price (given all the features) made it appealing; however, if you want to get every last ounce of performance out of the CPU and RAM, the GB B450's are not the most ideal boards.
