For $8 most likely you got RGB strip.
Hue price includes RGBW strip, slightly better power supply, more complicated controller, better customer service, years of software development in APIs and integration, lifetime free online service.
Similar.
Cars are different too.
Here you pay for quality, for integration with other hue lights and for colour matching to your existing hue lighting.
It is terrible when you have red or blue lighting and your LED strip has completely different shade / saturation of such colour.
But if you are not using hue lights, do not use home automation too much (i.e. to change the lights colour) then your alibaba strip is ok (as long as the power supply is safe…)
I ordered last Saturday 24 August. It’s now Thursday 29 August and still no update from Bing Lee on shipping status. Pretty disappointing.
Yeah mine only got shipped yesterday afternoon. Pretty poor really. Hopefully it was listed as guaranteed receive by date and we can get a coupon
