My housemate is planning to buy a tv on thursday, i assume because it's before the financial year end.
He's talking about getting an older model plasma, 40'', that's what he's thinking he'll get for that money.
But what's the best TV that money? Probably prefer plasma, not LCD, unless it's got a high mhz of refresh rate or whatever's important.

LG 50" Plasma (50PT250) was $671 in the JB catalogue last week. I bargained them down to get it for $588, so I know they can at least go that low. Thanks for the suggestions, shame the LG isn't FullHD, but hence the price i s'pose. Looks good otherwise, only 2 HDMI a bit pov.
Another reason he wanted to get it this thursday, is because we both have the day off, so we're moving a fridge, and getting the TV. Will check out the Samsung COTD sale.
check out catch of the day they are having a samsung tv sale but suppose everyone mostly hates COTD but it on the same day your housemate want to look for a tv.
