I just bought an Android phone, in fact its Huawei Mate20 from Ozbargain post, one important consideration is to use googlepay, particularly to use Myki on Googlepay.
I just tried to registered my main credit card on googlepay but my bank rejected it becuase I blocked international transaction. I can unblocked it and registered it, but my question is if I use googlepay to pay stuff in Australian, would that be considered an overseas transaction and I would be charged for international transaction fees etc? I remember I used this credit card to make an online purchase a while ago, I thought it was an domestic transaction but it turn up to be an international tranaction and I was charged quite a bit of money for it and thats why I blocked overseas transaction.
I also registered for Applepay a while ago and I do not remember I had this issues before.
Google doing so many transaction in Australia and it has subsidaries registered in Australia, how can it be consided as an overseas compnay? So inconvenience to Australian consumer.
Nope, all google pay does is present a virtual credit card up that is linked to your real credit card.
No different to apple ;)
